well I think Djokovic is right on this one. Some players didn't like it, probably not because he was imitating them, but out of jealousy probably, because he is had so much success in the last months.

I think the best is for him to go out there and win, they will continue not liking it. Just like myself.

"This is not what I do best. What I do best is I win on the court in tennis," Djokovic said. "That's what I'll try to do in the next 10, 15 years."

1 slam down, 30 more to come.

There's a reason Nadal says such nice things about Roger. Of course I think they do like each other (while not being best buds or anything like that) and I do believe Nadal doesn't much care for Djoker. In fact I'd love to know how many players do.

I love your sig - I like Nadal as well, Fed is my way way out #1, but unless it affects Fed - I often root for Rafa. I like the way their relationship has developed over the years.

How will you root next week?

Yeah, I change my username about every four weeks or so, as I just can't make up my mind about it...

Pleased to meet you dear!

I'm following tennis for nearly 25 years now, but just went to a tournament for the first time last year as I thought I chouldn't waste the opportunity to see Roger playing live

It was indeed fantastic and stressful. I remember his first match against Monaco, which was a real roller-coaster and I was so afraid he would lose it. His next match against Ferrero was really good and he show us some of his magic

It's not just the fact to see Roger play tennis, but also to see him just on the court. The crowd loves him and he seems to be such a lovely guy

If you get the chance to go to a tournament you should really do it.

I'm leaving to Hamburg tomorrow to see Roger again

It's so difficult for Roger with all the pressure on his shoulder. Even more astonishing it is to see how he deals with everything It's wonderful to see how much he is respected by the other players on the tour, the journalists, the fans - well, apart from a lot of haters here on MTF.
He is a real ambassador for tennis and of course for UNICEF.

It's really easy to be a fan of him

Sorry for madness - it really is a giant leap for us technophobes to get something right for once!

Anyway, now that I have calmed down. Special thanks to J'torian for Avatar image - loving it.

Looking towards Hamburg - how are people feeling? Last year was a tough one as well wasn't it? I was on holiday and not able to follow it properly. I remember walking around the Highlands of Scotland with scraps of paper and my mobile trying to get reception for tennis results.

Roger has been so blessed and given us a lot of blessing. He has managed his body and game so well it is easy to forget that he actually is a human being in a human body and at some time or other will have to face human trials and difficulties. Now is such a time. I so admire his courage and good grace as he goes through it! So I have come here to be with fellow Fed fans over the next weeks and months (RF.com has always been to cloistered and stressful for me, I'm afraid).

So...

Kitty

It was difficult for him to go to the tournament last year after his loss to Volandri in Rome and the seperation from Roche. Beside this he had a challenging draw: Monaco, Ferrero, Ferrer, Moya and Nadal.

It was my first time ever at a tournament and I could see his first two matches live.

This year the situation for him is not easy as well. All we can hope for is that he will be healthy and fit. We should take round by round. He has a few players in his draw who can play great on clay (Andreev, Almagro, Davydenko), but tennis has been showing a lot of surprising results lately and therefore we should just wait and see what will happen.

Re avatar - I just love the child-like cheeky grinn!!

Re: *****Not getting Volandried in Rome 2008*****

Roma08 will go down in history as the biggest DJOKE of a tournament ever... so did NTG have any sore throat, strep throat or tonsilitis probs? breathing heavily? getting the trainer??

Congrats, NTG, for being the first Roma champion to win the title having played three full matches and a couple of games...

well done to Stan for taking a set off NTG... and even tho I am no fan of Igor, at least HE took a set also... small consolation for this tournament's outcome...
