But I think we deserve to have an independent TMC Thread even if we roll over his triple defeats. Let me make one.

Okay I want him to be into the Nadal's group because the only RR matches I can see will be the latter group.

BTW isn't TMC an indoor court?

Bump!

I was contemplating starting a new thread but no point having one for 3 losses.

Yes he did play like crap and it was obvious that he was tired - that is not an excuse, just a fact. And while everyone is most upset with the mental lack of effort I think that mental fatigue is in large part a result of physical fatigue. YOu have to have a mind of steel to force an exhausted body to move when it doesn't want to move. Only people on the tour that seem to be able to do that are Nadal, Fed and recently Djoke sometimes(any coincedence they are the top 3)?

And yes we should congratulate him for a victory and a final the following week. Don't think any expected him to make it very far in Toyko. I know I expected that he would fold to Berdych and actually he had a few opportuniites to do so and didn't.

My theory - when he gets stronger physically, we will see his true mental strength. He is just 21 (again not an excuse) and his body is visually not nearly as strong as others in the Top 10 who BTW but for Nadal and Djoke are 4 - 5 years older.

I'm going with the just like a fine French wine, you can't rush the aging process theory and fully expect Richie to be a strong, consistent force in 2-3 years.

I did. I am not that upset about this defeat, Ferrer is on a hot streak, on has to admit it, Madrid and Bercy will decide about Shanghai and I suspect Richard to have watched the rugby match, even if he told the press otherwise.

disappointing result from Richard, it would've been nice if he'd put up a bit of a fight! but overall 2 great weeks, hopefully he can carry it over to the MSs!

Allez Richard Lion heart!you can do it!
it was a great match indeed! everyone here went crazy, I can't imagine what it would be like if they won the whole thing! France-England next, that'll be fun!

I misssed the first 3 games but apparently all I missed was Richard getting broken twice and Ferrer flying around the court, crushing balls while Richard just watched or worse standing flat footed and missing. Ferrer was just too fast, too strong and too precise and Richard was totally confused - nothing worked, he looked really flat and had no fight - heard that before? He perked up a little at 0-3 in the second but it was too little too late.

It was a good 2 weeks and there were many positives that he can take from this. It is too bad he ran out of gas mentally and physically in the final. He'll never make it to the top until he can be at his strongest in the final rounds, not his weakest.

Rest up Richie and build on this good run to make it through to finals in Madrid and Paris.
I woke up early,so difficult to see that kind of "non play" from richard I was disappointed and I came back to finish my night.
I knew that Ferrer is not a joke to face but this score is too harsh.

I agree with you when you say that he has to improve his mental and physical strengh to challenge every top player on a Final. This must be his goal for next year.
he maded 2 very positive weeks and finishing like that its shameful.
Hopefully he will withdraw from Vienna and take some rest.He needs it. Hopefully he will come back very strong in Madrid.

Then why they put rankings and races respectively?

BTW I think Richard's trademark should be changed from 'backhand' to 'He's the favorite and a great player.'

Congrats to the French rugby team They must feel rehabiltated. I was in ´France when they lost the first match against Argentina and the papers were "killing" them.
That's a harsh scoreline but the rugby match was worth to be watched. This kind of performance only happens once a decade.

They beat the favorites so, they are the new favorites from now on... Lets see if they will handle the pressure from the medias which had criticized them earlier..

I like when you put things in perspectives silver

It's disappointing to see he didn't take this title but at least, he has recovered confidence and will. Now Madrid and Bercy will really matter.

Ferrer is no.6, no.7 is Gonzalez and No. 8 is Blake who has just one point more than Gasquet

Re: **__||__** Hardcourt Season 2007 **__||__**

Aren't there only 8 spots and Ferrer is ranked 8. I don't see how Gasquet would overtake him unless Ferrer isn't playing or loses early.
