The sad thing is that no one is coming from behind . Your fave , Copil is struggling for years in Top 200 not being able to be consistent for a long period of time and Dima is the next ranked player .

And hopes like Constantinovici or Madaras change countries because of our "great" tennis federation . Maybe Tatomir, who knows . Or maybe someone will approach Albot to change flags, improbable though....

Well , Victor seems to have ended his tennis career :

Source : http://doartenis.ro/2015/05/exclusiv...es-10-000-usd/ . Highlights are written by me:

He now lives in Australia. Highlights of his Career :

#75 in the ATP Rankings in 2009. (1 of 10 Romanians in Top 100 Singles all-time)

• R2 at the 2009 Roland Garros (from Q) & Wimbledon .

• 1 ATP Challenger title out of 9 finals. 25 ITF Futures Singles titles.

• ATP Gstaad 2009 QF.

Biggest career win in ATP Masters 1000 Roma against #16 : James Blake and in the next match took a set off the soon to be Roland Garros finalist at that time: Robin Soderling

• 8 Davis Cup ties played with the Highlight being in 2012 when he brought the decisive point in the Relegation match vs. Finland against Heliovaara. (5 sets)

*The opponent served for the match and had 4-1 in the 5th set but Victor won 7-5 even though having cramps. Photo:

And this is the last ITF Singles title he won, in 2014 :

So long , thank you and good luck in life !

Thanks a lot !!!
Well I did understand a bit, I guess,I can go to Romania this summer then, ha ha ...

I don't think Victor's playing this week. (maybe, at last, he decided to go to the US, to train on hard before the US Open !!!)

By the way, did you know that he's got Russian origins ?!!
I read that here:

TRANSLATION:
- Why did you choose tennis?
- I choose to play tennis because it's a nice, clean sport and the people that work in the tennis industry are very special and have a nice personality.
- How often do you train?
- 2 or 3 times / day. If I'm playing in a tournament I train more to maintain my fitness and I am not involved in a tournament I train three times / day.
- What is your model in tennis?
- I am a Roger Federer fan but now I'm starting too see him more like an opponent, not like a idol, because I might play against him someday.

Re: The new kid on the block : Victor Crivoi

I found a video interview of Crivoi, in which he says that he's a Federer fan
I didn't understand the whole interview but basically he explains why he chose tennis, he talks about his training routine, and why he's a fan of Roger.

I might be wrong, like I said, I don't speak a word of Romanian, but luckily for me, it's a latin language like French, so I can guess most of it ...
By the way if someone can translate even roughly what he says that would be lovely

Re: The new kid on the block : Victor Crivoi

Unfortunately, you were right, he lost in 3 sets, I can't believe he lost the match after winning the 2nd set 6-0 !!!

Anyway, Crivoi stays in Italy, he'll be in another challenger (but this time, he's seeded 4).
He'll be playing in the 1st round : Brian Dabul (never heard of him, so I guess it's gonna be ok )

http://www.euro-sporting.it/challenger/

it's another tournament in Europe and AGAIN on clay , I don't know why he doesn't try to get to the big tournaments of the major atp tour , I mean the US Open is round the corner, and he hasn't played a single official match on a hard surface, I hope he's gonna soon move to the US and train for the US Open with the big players ...
