He started training again two weeks ago. No news about a coach.

Re: Del Potro's News and Articles

Surprised there hasn't been more discussion about Juan getting rid of Franco and Martiniano. Wonder who he will replace them with.

Re: Del Potro's News and Articles

Delpo on fb the other day:
( I don't have fb but still can see it via google)

The hardest moments of my career are gone, those in which I didn't know what I would do next. I've already told you the discomfort of being unable to do what I like and the suffering of watching tennis on TV. Today is a different story. I have great expectations for a new stage that began this week.

Before my last wrist surgery I told you on video that I was committing myself again in order to play pain-free. I told you I might have had a different life thanks to alternative therapies. But if I wanted to hit the double-handed backhand as I know I had to undergo surgery again. In that decision I exposed my thoughts about the future. Today I am more committed than ever to trying to come back. No more doubts or question marks. A new career for me starts today.

This doesn't mean it's easy. I always use the figure of "stumbling blocks" but I really feel that way. Maybe I found more stumbling blocks than others did, but you have to jump over them, overcome the problems, become stronger and move on.

Three surgeries on my left wrist, one on my right wrist. I don't know how many cases like mine there were in tennis. I just know that when I have a goal I try to achieve it.

This week I began rehab and did some light workout. While I start from scratch, I've been on a diet to maintain weight. I'll take the time that's necessary to name my new technical team.

I want to thank those who always talk to me on the streets, the ones what write on Twitter or Facebook to ask me how I feel or when I will return. Those who are waiting for me without contacting me, too. I don't know how long it will take, I do not know at what level I will play, but I hope to be with you on the tour again.

He seems very positive. Things are on the up I doubt he'll be coming back that soon though. At this rate it'll just be great to see him play.

Hello everyone. I wanted to tell you that Franco and Martiniano are no longer part of my team. I'm really grateful for the years we've worked together and I wish them the very best. I'm also thankful to their families for their warm support that goes beyond tennis

I hope so too.

Wrist has been bothering him from what I've heard recently, but nothing serious.

Comes back at the Brisbane 250 event. Hooray! Now maybe I will get into singles tennis again. May the big man stay healthy for a whole year this time.

Re: Del Potro's News and Articles

Is Juan still on to return in September? I really hope so. I don't want him to be doing things he shouldn't be, but the lack of news about him is frustrating. Does he make the Argentine press or gossip pages at all does anyone know?

Re: Del Potro's News and Articles

Juan on FB:

Dear friends,

I want to tell you that after a period of medical treatment, in which we tried to be competitive on a tennis court, and following new examinations done today, my doctor Richard Berger decided that I should have surgery to fix the problem on my left wrist. It will be tomorrow, Monday, March 24th.

Obviously, it's not the easiest choice or the happiest moment of my career. I experienced a similar situation and I know how hard it is to be out of the tour, the desire to return, the endless weeks of recovery and how difficult it is to start fighting for the top spots in the rankings again.

As always, thank you to those who express their support in any part of Argentina and the world, during tournaments, on the streets or social networks. The strength you send me and my desire will be crucial during my recovery.

Thank you very much to all,
Juan Martín

Stay strong Juan Martin and all the best for a fully recovery
