Ausie, I thought you had reported earlier that Kokkinakis will play Aus Open with Lleyton. Do you know who Lleyton will play with?

Sure is, wonder how he'll manage both of them. Maybe they'll have very similar schedules next year.

Re: Thanasi Kokkinakis

Thanasi has split with long time coach Todd Langman in favour of a new partnership with Ben Mathias. Understandable I suppose that he feels like he needs a new voice to continue developing, which is hopefully a good sign that he's pumped for a breakout year in 2016.

Re: Thanasi Kokkinakis

All in all a great year for Thanasi... He started off really well, and that's impressive. He may have finished poorly but it didn't have negative effects on his ranking. Even then he showed some promise like in the USO match with Gasquet. This was a transitional season on ATP, and a long hard one. Next year he should have the added experience to move to new heights.

The big task next year should be defending all these early season points, mainly Indian Wells. Plenty of space there, if he gets a good draw at the Australian Open to make the 3rd round. I was very impressed I must say with his adaptability to 5 set tennis. He won 5 setters against Rosol, Gulbis and Tomic, all fantastic comebacks. That certainly gives me the confidence that with sufficient mental and physical reast he can knock off a seed!

I felt through this year that he should have played a few more challengers and not tried to travel too much. It's very hard to just come out and suddenly play a full year on tour like that. He showed the benefits of challengers when he won Bordeaux, prior to Roland Garros (where he went third round). However now that this year is over, it's certainly something Thanasi can take advantage of with the experience. Although I thought he should've played more CH this year, I think he definitely needs to stand his ground this year and play it out on the tour. Positive results in Australia are a good place to start!

Good luck!!!

Re: Thanasi Kokkinakis

He's pulled out of Paris (just in time, would have been in today).

Good decision.

Hoping for a Canberra appearance...

Agreed. What a shame, Brand not even close...

Re: Thanasi Kokkinakis

Oh lord, he lost 3-6 1-6 in 47 minutes against Brands... my feeling he was certainly running out of fuel for the final rush of the season jinxed him (?) really, sad loss. Just end this season asap and get a good workout in the off-season, there's nothing more to prove this 2015. Is he playing Berçy qualies or smth?
