If you can outsell Fifty Shades of Grey I too shall write a novel, an erotic novel.

Good luck.

I didn't expect you to write something so dark/bloodthirsty as this

How can I get one copy when it's finished?

Sounds very emo to be honest.

Good luck. I love the introduction you have given us.

Freak3yman84 I think you overused the whole "repetition for dramatic effect" thing. However, I do want to read more, so that's a sign of a good intro

Re: A Question About Murder (A Novel Idea)?

Sorry, I have been terribly busy with my summer course. I have a responsibility to finalize a 100 page report that's due on the August 9th.

Will you publish it officially or in the net by any chance??
Which ever requires less or no money, which is more likely the net. But I do want to publish it officially. :-)

The murderer is gay. Is that erotic enough for you?

And yeah, I've realized that Casualty List does not sell well, and it sounds similar to Casual Vacancy.

So, as many of you suggested, there will be no title for this novel until it's written.

It's a very long story, and I'm still on the first chapter.

lolwut?

This made me do a double-take. A baby is 1/3rd of a person?

Along these lines, perhaps the novel should be set in the pre-Civil War American south and be titled "7 3/5 Casualties," in which one of the victims is a black slave attempting to cast a vote.

Re: A Question About Murder (A Novel Idea)?

For my taste the title needs to have something enigmatic about it, something unexpected that raises interest. For example:

0 Casualties (because they all deserved to die)
1 Casualties (because the murder is the real victim of his hatred)
13 1/3 Casualties (14th victim survives or one victim was pregnant or the like)

Good luck!

How about "Indefinite.....Casualties".

Then on the dust cover tell prospective buyers that they can delete the word indefinite and fill in the number. Supply a pencil with every copy.

Best of luck.

Re: A Question About Murder (A Novel Idea)?

Write the entire novel/book. THEN pick the title. It's no hurry really. Personally I think the word casualities is better used for wars and accidents. It denotes a loss more than anything else.

Here it sounds like you are dealing with revenge/vengeance and then kills/deaths/victims might be better options. But only you know the content so that's why you probably should set the title as well.
