Re: Rafael Nadal: Clay Warrior's Hunt for 50 Clay Titles & 16 majors, #50 comes where

And #49 came in Barcelona. OP updated.

Does clay title #50, RG#10, Major #15, come in Paris?

The numerology of multiples of 5 somehow seems appropriate...

50, 9, 14, doesn't quite have the same appeal, even if it were to come at a venerable tournament such as Hamburg.

I think Nadal will win one of MC/Madrid/Rome and probably Barcelona as well. But RG is not going to Nadal this year.

Dull will be lucky to even pass two rounds at IW or Miami. He'll have to go into extreme cheat-mode to go further than that.

Just needs to win 3 of MC/Barca/Madrid/Rome/RG

5 chances to get 3 and pass Vilas, very doable. Of course RG is the most important

You were correct sir. Argentina Open in Buenos Aires, an ATP 250 event.

Congratulations to Rafa on winning #46. Condolences to Rafa's good friend, Juan Monaco.
Also, the ATP has recently revised the Vilas clay title count to 48 (as of now).
But if/when Rafa gets 50, he probably has the record anyway.

Now where does #47 come from? Does he recapture Monte Carlo and/or Barcelona, defend Madrid, grab Rome and/or Roland Garros?

As of now, I think it is going to be difficult for him this year, but who knows?

Simply amazing and unbelievable from the Clay Warrior.

As the spring European clay season ends, title #46 comes when and where?

Good question. Let us see what happens first. Normally we take the break after Wimbledon and then play the masters schedule - Canada, Cincinnati, US Open.

It is very nice this time of year and we love to go on the boat, swim, fish, golf, and enjoy life with friends and family. There are more important things in life than tennis. These rests improve the mentality and body for the big fights ahead, no?

I don't think we will catch and surpass Vilas this year.
I think that we will have to win some South American tournaments to reach 50.

I think 16 majors is looking more doubtful for us.

I think a win at Roland Garros this year may be questionable, but Rome and the RG draw will tell us more, which is in itself something, as previously a draw on clay wouldn't matter for us, especially at RG.

But that's now. Rafa could revitalize himself as he has done many times before. I won't count him out till he's done.
