So I figured I'd start this thread now, even though it might be a bit early still

Gianluigi Quinzi is currently the #1 U-14 Player in Europe, and top 10 U-16
Birthday: Feb 1, 1996
Residence: Porto San Giorgio, Italy
Plays: Left handed two handed backhand

Titles
Gianluigi is currently only 14 years old, and he's undefeated in U-18 ITF events, having won 4 consecutive titles.
G5 Honduras Bowl, Sep 18 Clay
G5 Copa Coqui, Sep 25 Hard
G5 Copa Mangu, Oct 2 Hard
G5 Curacao Juniors Open, Oct 9 Hard

That was 4 titles in 4 weeks, against players up to 4 years older than him, on two different surfaces.
He is based out of Italy, but currently training at the Nick Bolleteri Tennis Academy.

This week (November 7), he is playing in his first professional tennis match, in Futures Qualifying in Mexico, and next week he will be participating in the Challenger tournament down there.

Impressive, even if the field isn't good even by Futures standarts, but beating top 500 players is still decent. More importantly , he's doing it in on a regular basis. Get the title, GQ. :yeah:

Yes, very nice result this week so far and that was a solid victory in qfs! I was thinking playing in altitude could actually even help his game and this positive showing is a good sign regarding that. Taking a look at the draw now, legit chances for the title.

I think it's great that he chose to play this clay tournaments in South America, the competition is not easy at all but he still has a shot of getting some nice wins, testing himself against 18-20+ year old players and getting experience.

That's too bad, but 3 Future SF's aren't bad at all. Hopefully he'll take those last few steps in order to start winning Futures.
