You're right, I misremembered and thought Fed passed Agassi briefly early 2002, but the closest he came in any one week was Agassi 10 Federer 11.

So he didn't pass him until after US Open 2003.

I have him at about 34 weeks of that put away already. So Fed would need another 21 or so weeks to go to work towards that time in number 9.

4 - 8 weeks
5 - 9 weeks
6 - 11 weeks
7 - 31 weeks
8 - 47 weeks
9 - 55 weeks *

Wow. Ok. So he's not even got started then on weeks at number 9. Still working towards it. Fed still has this to play for next year then.

Interesting - Rafa and Roger are relatively close in the weeks in top 2 category, but miles apart in the weeks in top 3 category. I guess Rafa has been more hot and cold throughout the years.

That's consistency for you!

Re: Fed stats - with most weeks in top-2, 3, 5 and 10

Fed has now secured himself the record for most weeks in the top-25. He's still 48 behind Agassi but the grass points are on their own enough to keep him ranked that high for that long.

He also reached 900 weeks in the top-50 today.

I started the thread for both myself, years ago. He doesn't have it yet, but tomorrow is an important step towards reaching it. If he keeps it after Wimbledon, it's unlikely he relinquishes it.

Top-5 record is indeed looking likely. Never thought anyone would beat that one when I first saw it.

Re: Fed stats - with most weeks in top-2, 3, 5 and 10

Novak loses consecutive top 2, top 3 thanks to the Stanimal win.

Now Federer gets to defend his own time in the consecutive top 4. Top 5 will be up to the players behind Novak.

Federer down to 13 weeks left to go in the top 5. He needs 7 more in the top 4 to catch Connors and 13 at 5.

In 9 weeks, Federer will pass Connors for consecutive weeks in the top 25, and total weeks.

Federer is

95 weeks behind Agassi for time in the top 100.
66 weeks behind Agassi for time in the top 50.
54 weeks behind Agassi for time in the top 25.
53 weeks behind Connors for time in the top 10.
13 weeks behind Connors for time in the top 5.
7 weeks behind Connors for time in the top 4.

Fed owns total time at 1, 2 and 3.

Next week is important - it marks the first time anyone has ever gotten within a year of Connors' time in the top 10. All the points he'll get (he needs 3k approximately) to break the record.

The next closest is Agassi- where he had more longevity than either Fed or Connors, he wasn't able to sustain a high rate of play.

To put it in perspective - Connors put in nearly 3 more years at 5 and above, and 120 weeks at 4 and above.

Those are amazing, amazing records. And Fed's now within single digits of one, and within 3, 4 months of the other.
