This is the third Olympics for Lleyton. He represented Australia at the Sydney Olympics 2000 and Beijing 2008 Olympic Games in Athens 2004 Lleyton missed.
In Beijing Lleyton played with a hip injury, after the Olympics he underwent surgery on his hip.
Frustrating defeat, but todays match for me is another reason why Lleyton will go down as one of the greatest of his generation, a legend of the game and arguably the greatest fighter of all time in the sport (Connors probably level with Lleyton here). To go through everything Lleyton has been through and produce that tennis on centre court at Wimbledon against Novak Djokovic.. I've got a tear in my eye. Thank you Lleyton Hewitt for being such an inspiration.
Great words Steve.
Lleyton did Australia proud. Fought hard, performed to his max, so nearly pulled it off against Djokovic.
Now to progress further with our other darling Sam Stosur.
