Yes, I added the votes from the Active Players Thread into this one.

Same goes for the other players who retired this season.

Cool, .

BTW, How did Roddick get so many votes if he only retired a few months ago?? Did you count the votes he had in "Favorite Active Player" before he retired?

Re: 2012 MTF Top 10 Favourite Retired Players (Marat wins 3rd consecutive time)

Safin winning again is great

Why so little love for Ancic though ? He's even a recent retiree and was a likeable guy with a great game.

True, there are two ways of doing better. Improving your own score or seeing your opponents get less. I hope Edberg and Rafter won't fade from people's memories, though, they deserve to be remembered. As do so many others. This thread is great for remembering them

I am a little surprised to see Ilie Nastase was this year's highest climber, from 92 to 54. Not counting new arrivals, obviously. Further up I am also surprised to see Agassi doing so much better than last year. What's different for him this year?
Probably new members who like him.

Most recently retired will always have an advantage in this contest.

First post is updated with the final results

We have some famous new entries like Roddick, Gonzalez and Ljubicic but the winner of this poll was never in doubt

Thanks everyone for voting and especially to those who included reasons for their decisions

Yes, hopefully we will get to see him back on the court next year.

You have to name at least 5 players so you have to add one more player to make your vote count

If you're in the UK, at least, you can catch quite a lot of the matches live on ITV4. I'm looking forward to seeing Santoro: I don't think I ever saw him play live, and I've heard so much about him.
It's always great to see the former players live. I haven't seen Santoro myself yet but had the pleasure to see 2 of my favorite retired players this year in Halle - Edberg and Stich.

I planned to go to the Zurich Open next year but unfortunately the tournament got cancelled as they lost the sponsor BNP Paribas.
