Everything was set for a match against Frank but of course Challenger Frank showed up and choked it away

Draws Halys in Granby. The only Canadian of the 6 who drew a seeded player.

Re: Phil Bester

Excellent result. He was down 64 53 and I think had a match point against.

Bester is into the Quarters in Winnipeg after taking down top-seeded Frantangelo in 3 sets. 4-6 7-5 6-1

Re: Phil Bester

Bester smacked a ball hard which bounced off a fence post and hit a line judge in the stomach. Basically what nearly happened to Djokovic against Berdych happened to Bester here.

Re: Phil Bester

who defaulted though? The ITF Tennis app doesn't say who actually won the match.

edit (again): Nevermind, the ITF website has Bester losing. Really interested to see what happened.

If he defaulted he was a bad boy, if he was injured it would have been a retirement.

I should edit this...not necessarily a bad boy, he could have run out of racquets.

Re: Phil Bester

Phil's playing a Tennis Alberta event this weekend. Only 4 players have points, and the 2nd seed only has 3 of them. 6000 dollars of prize money if he wins both the singles and the doubles though.

Hammered today, love and one. Injured, sick, or a long way from getting back to where he was as a singles player?
