Hello folks, I'm sorry if there has already been a thread for this but I couldn't find one but I thought it would be nice to start a thread to introduce ourselves, say what we like about Jo and get some camaraderie between us fans. I have noticed that there is a thread for this on Gilles' and Richard's boards and thought Jo should have one too. I'll start.
My name is Vicky, I am English and 36. I first became a Jo fan when he played at Last year's USO. How could you not like his style of play and lovely sunny smile on court? I particularly like how how he is with the ball kids and how unassuming and softly spoken he is in his interviews.
hey everybody,I'm Selven.24 YO man,I come from China
I love Jo's tennis and his personality,of course his appearance.
I remember that the 1st Jo's match I saw in the USO at 2 years before,He finished Tim H...(sorry I forget how to spell his family name),and as you see,my English is so poor:angel:
I love Jojo and also like each friends in this forum, all of you bring me so much things about Jo,honestly thanks!!
New times, new fans Let's continue here, maybe people would like to re-introduce themselves
I'm Marion, 20, architecture student in Paris but soon in Granada, playing tennis for the last 15 years (even tried to become pro, but let's not talk about that sorry period :lol
I've been following Jo-Willy since Wimbledon 2007, went heartbroken more times than I could count because of his numerous injuries and always felt he would become big if only he could stop them from happening. I'm in love with his game, which is one of the most spectacular and entertaining I ever saw. I don't know of any other player who can make me go every two points. I still watch that semi against Rafa from last year AO to make me feel better when I'm down.
On top of that he is such a shiny, unassuming, sweet and reflective person that he won my heart in more ways than just one :inlove: I love his way to put the crowd in his pocket, the solar smile, the explosiveness on court and the sweetness off it. He won me over with quotes like "I don't feel any pressure. Pressure is when you can't find enough money to pay your rent at the end of the month. I'm just happy to be doing what I love most."
I'm a very talkative person especially when I'm with friends who like Jo, like here  Sorry if I can be a bit annoying taking over the chat thread. To be honest Jo is my favorite player before Monfils, Simon, Gasquet and Nadal. I'm under the impression he'll do something big this year. Hopefully in Roland where I'll be there to support him
Hi Selven and Benoit (sorry Benoit, I don't have the little hat accent as we call it in English on my keyboard to put over the "I" in your name :lol. And Marion and I are friends from Richard's boards.
Hi everybody, my name is Dana, 27. I am Kazakh, programmer and I love Jo since Queens-2007: oh yeah, he was really awesome. Love to see him playing, love his style and his way of behaving.
Also I am really nervous fan: every time I see him on court I feel like gettin heart attack: I guess I torture everyone around with my nervousness.
That's why I prefer watch his matches alone - but if I have access to Inet at this time - I always read Point-by-Points comments on MTFs livescore. Or here.
I'm Tessa, 17 years old and I'm a dutchie. I can't exactly remember when I first started to like Jo, it was maybe 2 or 3 years back? It just took me a while to start posting on his forum  The reasons why I like Jo have all been said on this page already, so no point in repeating them
Other players I like: Richard, Gael, Nole, Rafa, Ernests Gulbis, Berdych, lots of other spaniards and the dutch players I hate: Soderling & Stepanek :ras: just so you know:lol: And I also watch WTA! (go JJ, Dina, Flavia, Aggy, Arantxa & Misa )
Nice to meet you all (oh and I hope I'll talk to you on the chatthread cause I don't really know some of you )
Hello, I'm Bashak, 28-year-old turkish woman. I don't remember exactly when I became a Jo fan. It must have been 2-3 years back when I spent a few months in Paris and the only French newspaper I could completely understand was L'équipe. (and 20 minutes, metro...) All the other serious papers were a bit above my level of french. So I would buy the silly sports paper and read the entire thing, look up words and all. That's when I developed a general interest in French players, mainly because I was reading about them.
I don't have a sharp memory so I don't recall what tourney it was the first time I watched him play, he played Richard and lost. I have to admit Jo first caught my attention because of his striking resemblance to Muhammed Ali the boxer. Then I read about Jo's injuries and how he had to have surgery and had to go through extensive rehab. I was pretty moved by the whole ordeal.
I like a lot of players. There aren't any players I dislike. For example, I love Federer but I will cheer for another player I don't particularly love just for the sake of supporting the underdog. I also love Gasquet but, say if he played Santoro, I would probably wish Santoro won etc. It is only not the case when it comes to Jo. I would always support Jo and wish his opponent lost no matter how much sympathy I have for the other guy. So, Jo is my favorite player. He has such good spirit and energy. I love him as if he were my little brother. He has the best smile on the tour. He is genuinely happy about playing tennis. I like his game, sometimes he gets all fired up and I get scared that he might just burst into flames. I wish him the best.
Other players I like include Gonzalez, Nalbandian, Llodra, Monfils, Simon but there are many more.
I hope to go to Roland Garros or Wimbledon next year (I hear it's pretty much sold out this year) If not, I would like to go to a Masters Series event in Europe, Bercy would be great.
Since I discovered livestreams, I try to watch every match of his unless it's at 4 o'clock in the morning. Nice to meet you all!
ps: I also have a tendency to bet all my vcash on Jo and occasionally end up vpennyless.
Oh my god, thank you it's very generous of you, I certainly didn't expect it. I will try to resist the urge to bet all 5000 in the first round of Miami but I'm not promising anything. When I logged in I thought I won some obscure vcash lottery or something, then I noticed it was from you!
Thanks a lot!
ps: I have to add I've never seen so much vcash in my account since I joined. This is about 6 times the maximum I ever had.
Hi everybody, I'm Artem, 20 years old
Well, first I saw Jo in Bercy-2004 against Mario Ancic, but that time I just noticed that this guy has some interesting game and great plasticity on court. Then I lost him for two years, and was surprised when saw his name in the AO-2007 draw So when I watched Jo's match versus Roddick, I started following his results attentively, and after some fantastic things in England (5 singles matches won in 2 days and great play versus Lleyton) he became my favourite tennis player And that year I came to all his matches at the Kremlin Cup ) Alas, he got eventual champion Nikolay Davydenko in first round singles match, but advanced to the doubles semifinals with Grosjean, beating Nestor/Zimonjic in quarters, by the way
Hello, I'm Angelo 19 years of age and from the Philippines. Currently studying to become a doctor.
I'm a Jo fan since he has one of the most aesthetically pleasing games out there. Big serve + forehand, fast legs, and beautiful dropshots. I also love the fact that you never really get what you expect out of him, he's borderline painful to follow (2nd tiebreak against murray at wimbledon '10, volleys against Djokovic in the 08 Aus final 4th set tiebreaker), but it's ok since it makes his Victories so much sweeter (PARIS 08!).
He's an up and down guy who can beat anyone in the world, but at the same time lose to any guy in the world. He plays with passion, so much so that it ruins him sometimes, he never goes for the safer margins and blasts whatever he gets. It's risky, and downright stupid sometimes, but if he was any different would he still be Jo?
Slams and records be damned. JWT is my favorite player of all time!
My name is Theresa. I first became a fan of Jo when I saw his run at wimbledon last year. I find his game really entertaining and he is a wonderful personality on and off the court. Seeing the shocked look on him when he beat Nadal at australian open 2008 was priceless, he was literally in shock
Hola everyone, my name is Dee, and im from California,USA ive been a fan of Jo since the day he beat my rafa . But dont worry hes a great player and a great person:inlove:. I always love watching him, hes so fun to watch and i wish him the best of luck in 2012.

If you want to accept me with my avatar I'm here.
I'm Luna from Italy. 34yo.
Jo is absolutely part of my heart.
Of cource it's not difficult for you know who I cheer in the H2H matches but I always dream him at the final.
I love the phantasy and creativeness on the court of Jo, his volleys, the exploseive FH and the topspin OHB when he playes it.
It's been few time I follow tennis but I discovered him when he defeted my guys in a row a year ago exactly at Wibledon.
I apreciate a lot the sunny guy and his hearty and warm smile :inlove:
Hi, I'm Matt, 27, live in the states.. Jo is a month older then me.
I became a Tsonga fan through watching clips of his match against Fed at Wimbledon 2011.. I love how he plays the whole court and goes all out. Definitely my favorite player on tour
I saw Jo for the first time in the SFs of Aussie Open 2008 and he took me by storm. Been his fan ever since even though I was Nole's fan at the time so their meeting in the final was special for me. Love his explosiveness and creativity on the court as well as his character.
My Name is Trey I been a Fan of Jo since 2007-2008 , He is a Great Player & very entertaining, I hoping he will have his great Year in 2013 & have his breakthrough real soon
Hello, i'm Lola and i'm really fan of Jo! I became fan when i saw him play for the first time, so for me it was Davis Cup vs Rep. Tch (Berdych & Stepanek). I didn't seen so much tennis before, but since this day i watch all matches i can, and i take news every day!
I saw Jo 3 times, in Bercy (where he lose vs Nadal), in Roland Garros past year (where he won vs Wawrinka, but i haven't seen the end of the match bc of the night) and in Montreal, where he won vs Federer in qf in 2011. It was amaziiing, i worked there so i could see him so much !
Now i hope Roger will help him so much and he can win a grand slam !
NB: sorry for my bad english xD
I am Ben and I am 22. Born in Ireland. I have been a Tsonga fan for years now. The first time he came to my attention was his match in Queens vs Hewitt in 07. Supremely talented who has achieved and still has time to achieve plenty more, injuries permitted. Decided to join MTF as I posted on other forums previously but they have kind of died now and decided to join this much renowned forum.
