Newly crowned Australian Open Champion has revealed that his compatriot Roger Federer was amongst the first people to congratulate him on his famous victory.

Tommy Haas has named Alexander Waske as his new coach and hopes his fellow German can help him enjoy great success in 2014.

Nicolas Almagro has been forced to pull out of next week’s Australian Open due to a shoulder injury.

The Spaniard has been in a race against time to be fit ahead of the opening Grand Slam of the season at Melbourne Park which begins on Monday.

Home favourite in the bet365 odds, Leyton Hewitt, goes into the Australian Open next week on the back of a victory in the Brisbane International at the weekend.
