Radwanska Looking to be Back to her Best in 2014

Poland’s Agnieszka Radwanska has admitted that she played too much tennis towards the back end of last year but, having worked on her fitness through the winter, she hopes to be able to regain her best form in 2014.

Radwanska’s last tournament win came at the KDB Korea Open back in September but her form dipped following that victory and she was knocked out of the WTA Tour Championships at the round robin stage.

Following that disappointment it was clear that Radwanska’s schedule had caused her to become fatigued; "I think I really had a lot of matches in Asia. I played 13 matches in 18 days, which was a lot,” Radwanska said. "I think a little bit too much....I think it was not enough rest,” she added.

Having climbed to number two in the world rankings in July 2012 Radwanska must have looked forward to 2013 with optimism, but her performances last year failed to live up to expectations. Her best Grand Slam result came at Wimbledon where she reached the semi-finals, but she dropped down the WTA rankings and is currently sat in fifth place.

Despite being voted the fans favourite player on the tour for the third year running, Radwanska knows that she needs more success on the court, and she has been working hard to achieve that. “I really did a lot of fitness, you know, to be healthy and strong for the whole year," the 24 year old said, determined to remain strong throughout 2014.

In the past, Radwanska has certainly shown fans in the bet365 forums her potential to win Grand Slam titles, and her run to the final of Wimbledon in 2012 proved to bet365 punters what she is capable of. If she really has come back fitter and stronger than before, then 2014 could be the year that she finally lifts her first Grand Slam.
