Murray Makes Sensible Choice

Andy Murray's decision to pull out of the season-ending ATP World Tour Finals is disappointing for people who bet on tennis but seemed to be the only realistic option open to the Wimbledon champion.

Murray's injury woes returned after the US Open and, after a memorable year, he decided to take some time out to recover from the back problem which flared up again at Flushing Meadows.

Murray has had surgery on the injury and it is thought his recovery is going to plan....

Williams Secures Number One Spot

Serena Williams will definitely end 2013 as world number one after an impressive calendar year which has seen her win two Grand Slams to bring her career tally to 17.

The 32-year old won only her second French Open at Roland Garros earlier in the season and then followed that up with a success in her home slam, the US Open.

Along with the two majors, Williams has also secured seven other titles on the tour and has only actually lost on four occasions.
