Hola

This week in tennis was devoted to the Davis Cup competition. Spain took on Germany in an away tie, and came away rather successfully. On the first day of play, Spain got away to a 2-0 lead. Nadal defeated Nicolas Kiefer in 3 easy sets, 7-6 6-0 6-3, but David Ferrer had a little more trouble in his match against Phillip Kohlschriber, needing four sets to dispose of him, 6-7 6-3 6-4 6-2.

On the second day of play, it was now or never for the German side, needing...

Hello everyone

This week the ATP circuit got to participate in the Miami tournament. It hasn't been the best tournament for the Spanish players, but regardless having a spaniard still present in the tournament at the semi-final stages is never a bad thing. Hopefully Nadal can go on and win the tournament

Santiago Ventura had a disappointing tournament. He lost in the first round to Jose Acasuso, 6-2 6-4. But saying that, Acasuso was in some great form, beating a higher...

Hi

This week the tour moved to the Pacific Life Open: Indian Wells. There was quite a lot of success by the Spaniards, and since theres quite a big field here, many Spanish players were able to contest the event. Any Spaniard seeded above 32 also got a first round bye, which was a big help.

Guillermo Garcia Lopez got as far as he was expected to. In the first round he beat Sergio Roitman 6-1 6-4, but then lost to world number 1 Roger Federer 6-3 6-2. Nicolas Almagro...

Hola

Firstly, an update on how Nicolas Almagro did last week. He won Almagro is currently one of 3 men, (the others being Llodra and Roddick) to have won 2 titles already this year. And he's performing the best out of all the Spaniards, being the only one to win a title this year. Vamos España, hurry up and win more titles! By the way, Almagro beat David Nalbandian 6-1 7-6. Almagro has been one of the standout performers in the Latin American clay court swing, and hopefully he can...

Hola!

Last week both Guillermo Garcia Lopez and Nicolas Almagro were very successful. Guillermo managed to overcome the big serving American, John Isner in San Jose, but then lost to Andy Roddick 7-6 6-1 in the semi-finals. Theres no shame in losing to Roddick, who went on to win the tournament, so GGL should be very happy with a great weeks work, and hopefully we can see a rapid rise in the rankings soon. Almagro wasn't so lucky, having to withdraw against Juan Ignatio Chela 6-3...
