By the time Wimbledon comes around at the end of June, Roger Federer will be hoping to have reclaimed his place among the world's top two players, after his disappointing season so far saw Novak Djokovic climb ahead of the Swiss star in the world rankings. One of the main reasons behind Federer's slip in the rankings has been his form against his the players around him, so far this season losing every match against both Rafael Nadal and Djokovic.

While all the talk of the French Open has so far been focused on Andy Murray and his lack of a coach, or the fact that the Williams sisters and perhaps even Kim Clijsters are set to miss out on playing at the French Open due to injury, Rafa Nadal has rather strangely been able to duck under the radar and instead allow the other names to be the ones that have been cropping up in media circles.

Although Rafael Nadal has not quite been reaching the heights that he usually aims for recently, with his defeat in the Miami Open against Novak Djokovic a case in point, he is still almost unbeatable on his day when playing on his favourite surface of clay.

Nadal has dominated much of the last decade on clay and also managed to win every clay event last year, so there can be no doubt that he knows exactly what he needs to do if he is to repeat his success and the French Open odds...
