Andy Murray is heading into the US Open next week in a much better position than 12 months ago.

The pressure should be off the British number one's shoulders somewhat after he managed to finally claim a Grand Slam title at Flushing Meadows at the end of last summer before he then followed it up with his memorable triumph at Wimbledon.

John McEnroe says he doesn’t believe Roger Federer will ever win another Grand Slam title ahead of the US Open.

The Swiss star recently dropped to seventh in the world rankings, his lowest position for over a decade and after previously dominating the game, he has now won just one of the last 14 majors, the 2012 Wimbledon Championships.

Andy Murray has admitted he is going into somewhat of the unknown as he defends his first ever Grand Slam title at the US Open but the Scot is looking forward to the challenge.

Having gone so long without winning one of the ‘Big Four’, Murray has enjoyed a superb year, with wins at the Olympic Games, US Open and of course his famous Wimbledon success.

With two Grand Slams to his name, the 26-year-old is now fully focused on retaining his US Open title at Flushing Meadows...

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga's announcement that the knee injury he aggravated at Wimbledon will now rule him out of this year's US Open is a real shame for fans getting ready to watch the final Grand Slam of the year.

The 28-year-old has been out of action with the troublesome injury since he was unable to finish his second round match against Ernests Gulbis on day three at SW19 at the end of June.

He has been receiving treatment on the injury over the past six weeks and,...
