As 2011 draws to a close and we begin to look back at the last 12 month on the ATP tour, it becomes apparent that a review of the year is more a review about Novak Djokovic, who dominated the tour from the beginning to almost the very end.

The Serb won three Grand Slams, a record breaking five ATP Masters 1000 tournaments, plus a couple of ATP 500 events. He won an incredible 70 singles matches with only six losses and ends the year the clear number one player in the world.

After a disappointing end to the season, Novak Djokovic believes that he can rediscover his winning form, next month, and challenge for a career third Australian Open title, at Melbourne Park.

The most recent tennis season was, arguably, the best of Djokovic's career. The Serb claimed three of the four Grand Slams, missing only the Roland Garros, on his way to the season-ending ATP Finals.

Former world number one Rafael Nadal says he is expecting an extremely tough match on Thursday night when he faces Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga as he looks to reach the semi-finals of the ATP World Tour Finals in London.

Both players go into the match knowing that victory for either of them will seal second spot in Group B and a place in the knockout stages at the O2 Arena. Fans of the betting should remember this.

Organisers at the Brisbane International are breathing a sigh of relief, this week, after tennis player, Andy Murray, revealed that he would begin his preparations for the Australian Open by participating in the ATP World Tour 250 event, in January.

The addition will be a huge boon for the men's singles contest.
