British number one Andy Murray has described the appointment of Ivan Lendl as his coach as "one of the best decisions" of his career.

Murray will reflect on 2012 as his breakthrough year of results and scores . The Scot became the first British male to win a major in 76 years when he triumphed at the US Open in September. He also won Olympic gold at the London Games and reached his first Wimbledon final.

If it had not been for Ivan Lendl then Andy Murray would not be looking back on the best year of his career so far.

Since the 52-year-old former pro linked up with the Scot, things have gone from good to better, to even better! It goes without saying that Murray was crying out for some true leadership in his tennis.

British number one Andy Murray was left to rue a missed opportunity as Novak Djokovic recovered from an early setback to move a step closer to the last four of the ATP World Tour Finals.
