I forgot some tidbits yesterday.

The Sun has a daily feature where one player is discussed by several different people -- They are just little squibs. Anyway yesterday was about Dementieva. One fellow said that Fred Stolle had worked with her, and told him that Dementieva could serve great in practice. Her problems in a match were all mental.

Also when Kimmy was walking toward the practice court, a little girl ran up to her for an autograph. She smiled, said...

TUESDAY PRACTICE
First up, Julian Knowle and Alex Peya came out. Alex had a hat on, so I don’t know how the hair is going. They trained for half an hour, then Jurgen and Marco came out. They jumped over the fence (between court and seating area) and sat in the shade before their practice session (between 3-4pm). I wonder if he will wear a hat or bandanna!? LOL I miss the bandannas.

I spoke to Jurgen before he had a hit:

Day Four

Before dragging myself home from a very long hot day at the tournament, I stopped by Statler Foods…. A downscale grocery store in the valley. There are nicer stores… Ralphs… Jensens… even Vons… But anyway it was handy and all I wanted was a bottle of wine. So, I’m stumbling out of the store with my purchase and nearly run right into a vaguely familiar woman carrying a child and speaking German. (something about grandma) It was STEFFI GRAF! I have... a hole in the kitchen roof... insulation that is crappy.. and a washing machine that flooded the floor at 11pm tonight..

What a great job the GB boys did in the Davis Cup.. I'm proud of them.. it was great to see them do well, especially as we don't have Timmy to help us out anymore..
