The Writing Life
I went to my fiction writing class, not really knowing what to expect (sort of). I didn't know what sort of writers would be in this class with me, but for awhile, I was totally overawed to be in their presence. I, who began writing at age nine, was overawed, paralyzed by the talent that was in that room.
Among the eight of us, there are writers of every genre....historical fiction, historical romance, pulp fiction, contemporary fiction, memoir, and children's literature. The variety of our writing interests being that wide, I believe we will all learn from one another...and improve our writings in the process. For now, however, I have a 3-5 page fiction piece due Feb. 13 for critique.
Because of the success of last night's class, I want to sign up for the Monday-night poetry class, to begin January 28.
