Long day

Day Five.

I got home late from the site. It was a long long day. I don't really have time to write about everything that happened.

I saw the last two games of Kimmy's match.

Gael Monfils vs. Jeff Morrison. The best thing about the match was that a roadrunner somehow found himself on the court right up against the net and he didn't know what to do. Morrison took control and herded him off court chasing him at the last, I suppose thinking he would fly away, but roadrunners don't really fly, so the poor thing fluttered about ten feet in the air and then found refuge under a chair at the side line. I wasn't really impressed with Monfils so much.

Then of course OLI!!!!! OLI!!!!! It was such a good match, and Oli played with such heart and courage. Zabeleta's nerve failed him at crucial points in the match.

Kirilenko absolutely killed Bovina and looked good doing it. Kriilenko was flowing over the court and playing an all court game.

Mirnyi and Malisse. It was a good match though. Malisse sort of gave up, I thought even though he kept on playing. I wonder what it would be if Malisse had Oliver's mentality.

Ferrero is devastatingly handsome and looked great in his new shirt that is red and trimmed with yellow piping.

Linteskaya is a small woman built very solidly who can run like a bunny and can hit accurately and with power on the dead run off both sides. I'll be iinterested to see how she does against a player with more power. Next up for her is Mauresmo.

Jonas nearly gave me a heart attack (did I mention how handsome Jonas is in real life. He's so neat and dapper.) Labadze did one of his imploding things where he wasn't really trying... and apparently all because he got a warning for hitting a ball not just out of the court but all the way out of the tennis site clear out over the fence along the border of the site. So anyway, Jonas was serving at 5-2 second set and Labadze decided to play. Jonas lost serve TWICE!! And then I was afraid he wouldn't hold to get into the tiebreak, but he did with some brave and agressive play. And then he took the tiebreak in the same way..... helped out by a couple of double faults from Labadze.

The benefit was fun. Everybody had a good time. The funniest ones were of course, Andy, Marat and Andre. But everyone pitched in. The guys were Nalbandian, Guille, Henman, Marat, Andy, Carlos, Roger, Andre, and Lleyton. The girls were Kim, Amelie, Elena D, and Daniela. They acted as ball girls for the guys for awhile. It was funny. Daniela is a sucky ball girl Then the girls went up into the audience to collect money. Unfortunately, Amelie and not Daniela came to our section.

A lot went on at the benefit. I'll be glad to answer questions but I don't feel like writing about it all right now.

Tomorrow will be a long day because Daniela is playing the second night match.
