Bets for Wednesday, February 22
Rotterdam:
Stepanek (1.16, 3 points) to beat Lammer: Lammer has no weapons to trouble Stepanek who is reliable enough to risk a larger bet.
Rusedski (3.85, 0.5 points) to beat Davydenko: This is obviously a speculative bet. The h2h doesn't support the hope for an upset, however, Davydenko has always had a couple of patchy moments in his last couple of matches and if Rusedski serves well, he could get enough chances on Davydenko's serve to win the match on the very fast surface.
Dent (1.36) to beat C. Rochus: The surface suits Dent's game much better than Rochus'. Dent has had a good win against Berdych while Rochus barely scraped past Lisnard.
Memphis:
Murray (1.32, 3 points) to beat Schüttler: Murray playing excellent tennis against Schüttler who just isn't competitive anymore. The odds invite me to a big bet.
Bjorkman (4.2, 0.5 points) to beat Kiefer: Kiefer has been ill and I expect him not to be at full strength which would give Bjorkman a good chance to win.
Haas (1.23, 2 points) to beat Gimelstob: Haas has played an excellent season so far and Gimelstob has shown nothing that would make me believe he could possibly trouble him.
Goldstein (1.40) to beat Jenkins: The experienced Goldstein should be able to beat the newcomer Jenkins who hasn't shown any form after the US Open.
I'm waiting for the odds of Roddick v Arthurs. Should Roddick be very short, I may oppose him.
Costa do Sauipe:
Martin (odds to be confirmed) to beat Ghem: Ghem was lucky to meet Kuerten in the first round, the only player he could have possibly beaten.
Volandri (odds to be confirmed) to beat Vanek: While Volandri struggled today in the first set, he's still a different class to Vanek.
Massu (odds to be confirmed) to beat Vicente: That's another matter of different class.
I will probably oppose Gaudio to beat Patience in straight sets based on Gaudio's shaky performance in the first round and in general.
More to follow when the order of play in Memphis will be known.
