This is not what I expected though, winning her first GS on her opponent's withdrawal. I woke up at 3:30 to watch the match, and when I saw Justine going to the net at 0-2 0-15 in the second set I was: "Noooooooooo, it can't end this way!".
It kinda spoiled the fun for Amélie I think. But that's sports, right?
She would have won anyway, she was so focussed and self-confident from the very first point
(wich doesn't happen usually wen she plays important matches
). Like she would have won against Kim in the semis. Kim looked tired from the beginning of the second set, she was moving more slowly, and I think she precisely got injured because of tiredness.
It was the perfect tournament for Amélie. She said she prepared carefully, she is fit and thinner than she used to be I think, and since the Masters she feels much more confident, and that's really the MAJOR improvement.
So now hopefully she'll be able to play RG with less pressure on her shoulders.
I'm sooooo happy for her!
