Early thoughts

Pies over Richmond .. but not sure about covering the line . tigers still without Troy Simmonds

WCE StraightUp (ML)

St kilda with the points .. they match up well with WB .. won twice comfortably last year and Nick should be back.. no Aka or WB

Carlton with the points ..usually close games with essendon..i remember last year draw. essendon after 2 wins , carlton after a big loss ..

Brisbane with points in Sydney .. depends on how big is the line spread

Geelong to cover whatever line against Demons (no Neitz , no Robertson)

2 games no bet .. South Autralia derby and Kangaroos X Hawks .. toss of a coin

Why are West Coast 1.80?

Great value.

Probably because of their recent record over them

But having a look at who is out for Freo this weekend the odds do look a little weird

:haha: Should be a classic i was thinking 15.5pts either way for value in a thriller!!Hard game to call cos Dockers own Weagles and have lost 2 in a row but then again West Coast will want Revenge!!Home game for Freo will mean bigger support and may get em home in the end!!How well will the recruits fair will be interesting cos Dockers need it with the absence of Jeff Farmer who is crucial to the set up of the team!!!

Does anyone know why Pies drifted to 1.75 and line down to -5.5 from 8.5 ?
Any news about Troy Simmond maybe?
Also St kilda drifted out to 2.00 and WB firmed to 1.8 ..
i will be watching the footy show .. and will post any news

most likely the drift in Pies X tigers game due to Troy Simmonds being named. the footy show included him in the tigers lineup.
most likely i will skip this game.

Exotic tonight.

Richardson to kick more goals than behinds @ $1.65

Richmond +4.5 @ $1.91 - I think they will get up this week and win.

Western Bulldogs @ $1.85 - I think they will bounce back this week.

Fremantle +5.5 - They have owned WC and I think that Tarrant and Pavlich will put on a show.

Brisbane +14.5 - VALUE - I'm also going for us to win outright @ $2.85 - Regardless, this game will be close. Hall won't play and if he does, he won't be able to run out the game - Merrett will stitch him up.

Kangaroos +9.5 - Will keep this close - may even win.

Got the same feeling Richmond might get up aswell, the Pies struggled against Richmond with Buckley playing and now without him,Symonds will be massive therefor freeing up Richo, but isnt Stafford still to come in the side!!Pies comeing back from West Coast wont mean to much due to its early in the season and also if it did effect them they wonuld lessin up on training you would think!!

Simmo was almost no where in sight aswell in the wrong postion he should be up forward especially when not full fit,bad coaching imho!!Also this Pattison kid is hopeless and too slow,i dont think he will be there too long, belongs in the 2nd's at best!!p.s Richomond really does Suck!!!

Richmond are absolutely well and truly pathetic.

Fade them for the rest of the year. Carlton won't get the spoon, Richmond will.

If Richmond ever wanna be a force, they need to make wholesale changes to that team - players that have been there for a long time need to go. If I was coach of that team, I'd be dropping the following

Anyway onto today. I've concentrated on the overs.

Port Adelaide V Adelaide - Over 180.5 - Port have been scoring over 100 and Adelaide have had reasonably high scoring games too. This will be a high scoring game. A lot of midfield run and with the forward power both teams have, I expect this to reach over 200.

St.Kilda V Bulldogs - Over 201.5 - Again, this will be a high scoring game. Riewoldt back for the Saints and Bulldogs will find their run again. Smells of a high scoring game.

Fremantle V West Coast - Over 183.5 - Again, Fremantle have been putting scores on the board and West Coast and Fremantle have close matches so this will be run run run. I see both teams scoring over 100 here.

Essendon -18.5 - Carlton are pathetic and Essendon have Michael, Fletcher, Lucas, Lloyd - thats a hell of a spine. Essendon will run Carlton off their feet.

Good luck Bolar!!Couldnt have word it better with Richmond,Carlton are pathetic but they somehow dont fear Essendon for some strange reason, feel Bombers will get the job done but not as easy as once looked, also you forgot the main Spine of the Skeleton, how can you forgot Hird (Bolar is disgraceful  )
Love the Overs with Saints n Doggies, the total should almost hit by 3qtr time, with the other 2 Interstate matches is very hard believe they will be more Physical then actually more Run therefor on the other side, feel the Adelaide games will most likely go more unders then in W.A!!!

Probably right, given they often try to cover the spread with behinds rather than goals. :silly:

ie. last night they should have won by 60+, but they were only 30 up on the scoreboard.

only one bet today :

Kangaroos +8.5 (5 units).. i am hoping for a very close game with lots of lead changes.. 50-50 game ..kangroos won 6 of last 8 . last time they met they scored combined about 110 . Kangaroos are due for a win. if they can't get it against Hawks they will never get it.

was leaning towards Bris +the points but skipped it due to the fact that lions covered the last 2 ATS and Sydney didn't cover their last 2.

Why?

I think it will be a great reward for our team who are predominantly 18 - 23 year olds. Young team will make the 8 this year. Wait till we get Charman, Lappin, Roe, Drummond and Clark back in that team.

Although, we need another key forward ASAP or I can kiss goodbye to our final chances. Charman should be playing Full Forward when he gets back and McDonald and Wood to share ruck duties.

However, I think Mitchell Clark is our key this year. As soon as he is over his current injury, he needs to slot into that key forward position without going through reserves. He may be inexperienced and played a handful of games, but he's all we've got up forward who can gel with Brown and Patful. Bring him straight in with no match practice and play him CHF.

We're right against the Kangaroos this week. We don't need big forwards to beat that hapless mob.

Good to see my favourite, who I've always rated ever since his debut - Richard Hadley come back unscathed. He is a future Brownlow medal winner injuries permitting. I said that many years ago and I will keep saying it.

Plus I knew Sydney would come back in the fourth quarter. Brisbane are a young team and Sydney are experienced in tight football games. The way the game played out, Sydney were always going to run over the top of Brisbane. We needed a bigger lead. Even when Brisbane were in their prime, their record in tight contests was a lot to be desired.

Onto the Bulldogs - I thought they were a top 4 team this year. That was shit.

This was a terrible round of football.

Richmond, Melbourne, Kangaroos and the Bulldogs are as bad as each other. Take your pick for the spoon - it's wide open. I favour Richmond or Melbourne or the Kangaroos for the spoon at this point in time. Richmond are a hapless mob.

Essendon and Brisbane with all their young players and Port will more than likely burn out at the end of the year unless the young players are given rests. I give Essendon the best chance of burning out first with the game they play.

Eagles will win the flag. Give it to them now. It will be another Eagles V Swans Grand Final. All the other teams are fighting for the rest.
