Marcos lost to Davydenko in the third round last year!
The draw looks tough this year, but with Marcos you never know!
Maybe he is more motivated with a bad draw
Good luck Marcos!

I hope Jonas wins. Will be much easier for Marcos.

Lets hope Marcos will have a good game and win.
As we all know in tennis nothing is easy, so its better to know
that your opponent is strong and be prepared.
Pame MARGO!

do you think he was sick or something?

I don't think so! He just doesn't look fit at the moment. Maybe he should hit the gym. More exercise and fitness should boost his confidence as well!
I really don't understand how he can get bageled after winning a set!
It happened again in Australia against Monfils!

Ok then. Let’s relax till Miami. ;) Maybe I am the distressed one

 Ok,you were right. There's something wrong with him.Let's start talking.:p

But,I still insist,it's all the cheerleaders' fault!:ras:  :armed:

I am following tennis for the last 25 years and Markos for the last 5 years (since he was teenager).

Please allow me to express my opinion about his results. The problems with him are the following:

1. Although he is very talented player (one of the few), he is not agressive in his game and sometime you think that his mind is switched off. He gives you the impression that he is there to pass the ball to the opponent and not to win the point.

2. Everybody knows that he is a slow started. He always needs couple of games to perform well. It is obvious that he gets better and better as long as he advances in a tournament.

3. His team does manage him well. They programmed his schedule as he is Safin or he is in his last year of his carrier. He take him around to places like Dubai, cashing participation fees ( I went to Dubai to see him playing and instead of see him playing, we saw him for three days before the match with Nadal to give interviews advertising Dubai Duty Free Shop, Dubai water park, giving interviews talking about football and Apollon Limassol, etc).

Instead of doing what Murray and Djonkovic did (go to small tournaments in US, wins some games, win some points, get the form he needs).

They tried to form him for AU, but the form came in Zagreb and then he went to the final in Marseille. Instead to stay in Rotterdam and win 2 to 3 games (they said he is injured !!!! before the QF with Youzny and withdraw him from the tournament). He was unlucky to be drawn with Nadal and what happened? He remained 4 to 5 weeks without games and now he has to start for the begginning (to find his form). His next tournaments are all Master Series (Monte Carlo, Rome, Hamburg and then Rolant Garros).

I am not saying that he has to change his team (he owns a lot to this people) but they have to be more sensive in his schedules. They do not need to cash all money this year. They should take him to win some points and advance in the rankings and the money will come later.

They have to protect him. If they continue like this, Markos will be remebered as a talented player who reached 2006 AU final and nothing else. In my opion this guy worth match more. He is an excellent player, one of the few who have all the means to become top 5 player.

The above some thoughts for discussion.

Well, cheerleaders or not, Marcos has to dig deep. I mostly agree with protomis. He is so unstable that even the betting agents may exclude him from stakes!!:D
