Livestream for Indian Wells (1st post contains info)

I know there is always someone creating thread for every week livestream tournaments. I was not registered then just a browser on this forum. Until now, there isn't any of them here creating one so I am. http://livesporty.100free.com is putting up various livestream links to watch the Indian Wells 2007. I have tried it and those links he/she does work for me.

From those links he/she has put up, I will edit and add/update this post to ensure readers get the latest info in this post rather than having to read so many posts in this thread just to get the info they need.

Thanks so much for taking your time to read this thread. I hope I am able to make this thread a successful one :)

Star Sports are covering the event, complete with English commentary. I was watching yesterday on a very decent stream via PPStream.

Should be found here (ppstream://hwmj3e32ne6ycokoapmt3ge5rab5tw4ze6dahwokmpuwea6z3u a45gid3hndxlzbapmumvtgmib5turgamaqhwoseybqga6z.pps/J2BSO2KOUZN7MRCMZY2KYFWS4XXWY6KQ) later.

No, it's more like both TTC and Star Sports use the same source, the Masters Series worldfeed.

The site in the first post reminds me of Tennismans site. Is it updated by the same person?

Yes, they showed the complete match. The live coverage went longer than scheduled and thus the planned live soccer magazine started later.

Small correction. Live coverage will start 30 mins later than yesterday, thus in 2hrs 30 mins. But in contrast to yesterday they'll also show the night match.

Can someone help me please?

I've tried downloading TVKoo, ppstream and pplive all before, and I get nowhere. All I end up with usually is a small box with no information, and hieroglyphics or multiple question marks where there should be writing.

Is there somewhere I can convert the writing into English or is there a problem with the software I'm downloading/something wrong with my computer?

Any advice would be very much appreciated, this has frustrated me for months now!

Aretak

They're all Asian programmes, which accounts for the writing. There's no way to convert any of the programs you mentioned into English, as far as I know. There are two others called TV Ants and Sopcast which are also very good, and both in English. As for why you don't get any picture, are you clicking the links for the live streams? Just starting up the program won't do anything. You need to click the link for a live stream (such as the one I posted earlier), wait a while for it to buffer, and then the video should appear.

For more information, visit this site...

http://www.myp2p.eu

They have some good FAQs, and links to live streams for all sorts of sports (tennis is under the 'other sports' section).

You have to open an account on Bwin, and you don't need to pay to watch the streams. When you open an account, and if you are logged in, you should see that right column with those matches. Some of them should have a sign "video on it". Then you should click on it, and that will open, and on the upper left you will see that little video sign again, click on it and then you will be able to watch the match. If you understand something of that :yeah:

You didn't make a mistake Four:Love. They are the ones that changed their schedule. :(

I see. NBA is of couse more popular.

I really don't understand why Star Sports is doing this. The NBA game is over and they are showing some taped golf program and then a taped auto racing program :smash:

Yeah, seem like the schedule is more important right now, although they're behind it and had no problems changing it for the sake of Basketball. :(

same here. And on bwin, nada. So I have the scoreboard and very grainy and strange television, like pepper in a snowstorm. Have to say, I thought Ljubo's knees would present more of a problem. Wish I could see things better. Sigh.

I can't connect to ESPN on sopcast, Star has rubbish on and the Tennis Channel is interviewing John Mac. I have only had access to the Tennis Channel for a couple of days and have yet to see any tennis - just interviews. No wonder so many american tennis fans don't pay to have it.

When you guys check the starsports schedule via espnstar.com what country do you pick in the dropdown menu?

Singapore :)

International ESPN says "Tennis" at 9 PM (an hour from now).

Hopefully, that means they would give show Roddick/Andy as well.

When I pick Thailand, it says Star sports showing Nadal Roddick at approximately 3:30 PM eastern, which is live.

Anyways, I doubt Star sports has different programming for each country (the menu to pick country is probably to adjust timezones), so this should be appearing via SopCast.

Good, matches Thailand.

So it's live, or near-live, around 3:30 PM Eastern.

they put commercials in the weirdest times, F1 qualifying now, they started the commercials 3 seconds before the guy made it to the finish line, so we couldnt see if he broke the best time or not. Second time it happens :o .

I don't know the answer but I will suggest a few things you could try, thunder 2006.

1. I presume you are on a pc. do you have a big enough HD? The livestreams are REQUIRING increasing power in the chips and so forth, esp in the last year.

1b. What OS? Requiring Windows 2000 and above these days. I know nothing about Vista, but if you go to cnet there is a discussion of its pros and cons. Don't know for Mac, something like OS10 at least.

2. Which Browser? I use Mozilla. Sometimes there are hidden blockers in various browsers. Hunt around and make sure you don't have any. Also sometimes there are limits on downstream size buried somewhere in your computer, usually at the level of the browser. Again, hunt around and make changes if necessary.

3. What anti-virus/anti-spyware programs are you using? Sometimes they are running in the background and interfering. I shut my off completely when setting up and using livestreaming, and then run the programs manually afterwards.

4. What is your default media player? Mine is WMP which seems to interfere the least, and is actually the required one for PPmate; they recommend 9 or 10 but not 11. I have had troubles with Realplayer interfering with everything and even with a media player from apple. Lots of programs now are insinuating default media players. Hunt around through your programs and get rid of the programs that give you media players you can't un-default.

5. Check your cache/cookies etc. do some clearing if it is getting too full.

5b. Most of these sites will be planting cookies when you download, and requiring that you accept them, so make sure you have at least a medium cookie acceptance setting. In my experience, once you use the players, you can get rid of all cookies and they continue to work fine.

6. Check your fragmentation, defrag if necessary. sometimes this helps!

That is all I can think of at the moment, other may people may have more to add. For me, it was necessary to get a more powerful computer and get rid of default media players. Now I download and install players, click on the streams, buffer and go with ease. Hope this helps! :)

Thanks for the points and whats odd is this notebook is only about 6 months and old when i first got it sopcast and tvants worked but than i must have changed something and now i just get a black screen. My HD is very large and fast connection and im using WMP 10. I turned off the anti-virus/spyware/firewall. I am not sure about Active X and what this is....

Metis

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling those P2P programs? Sometimes the old versions don't work. The recent versions work well on my 6-year old laptop.

MaryWalsh
03-18-2007, 04:32 AM
the fact that it worked well and now doesn't rules out a lot of problems and means you can get it working again! I forget about active-x at the moment, either i had to update it or disconnect it, one of the two, but I am pretty sure it was a case of updating.

sometimes I have found it helpful to get rid of a livestream progam entirely and start over completely from scratch, even sometimes do it 2 or 3 times. You probably know that these programs are being updated all the time, so one that worked six months ago most likely would not work now.

whatever the problem is, it is a software glitch and not a hardware problem, which is excellent news. I'd like to know what happens.:)
