That is the plight of the WTA.

If the man managed to play a USO semi at 39 this should be too hard :p

I dont think so. Serena would eat Jimbo before the match is over.

Serena would beat BOTH Connors and his sidekick Andy Roddick! No doubt about it :p

If Connors is in decent shape, he would beat Serena today, as would McEnroe. I love women^s tennis, especially Justine and Amelie^s games, but men pros are just too strong for the women.

That is the plight of the WTA.

Correction, that is the plight of the male ego!

Gotta disrespect the women to stroke
and soothe your fragile male ego.

You would be nothing than a Riggs defender.
Should Serena do a BJK, ofcourse, age is the
first thing you'd use to discredit Ms.Williams.

Among other things.

McEnroe would double-bagel Serena.

Do you think?

Do you think?

You must know certain men need to try an
exude domination over females to affirm
some sense of what they perceive as
manhood.

Besides, never would a woman if she did beat a
man ala BJK get any credit from these types here
regardless.

1. vs. (JC/JM) if they won, it would be made an "age" thing.
2. vs. (current) if they won, it would be the guy letting her win.
3. The women, especially the Williams Sisters, as they already have,
would be made fun of for their muscle & strength and called many
other types of names.

Men as a species are the physically stronger sex, it's not disputed.
One would think some men would find enough solice it that "fact", but no.

So, again, I'm pleased neither played his game
and left him to ponder and forever talk. ;)

Every man in the top 500 would beat any woman player.

Josh Olivas might even beat them.

Umm that would be correct... but also, the sky is blue and the grass is green. What is the purpose of stating the obvious?

I'm not actually convinced the above phenomenon is predominant in this kind of men vs. women argument. As far as I'm concerned, what bothers me is the clear violation of logic; it doesn't have anything to do with sexes. For example, I've once seen a 'documentary' show that portrayed a 7-yr old kid who is supposedly a kung-fu master, and the show tried to (dead serious) present that kid as able to beat like 5 grown up men in a fight. I've gone completely berzerk over such a nonsensical idea, even though I have nothing against kids (in fact I like them), or that kid from the show in particular. But the sheer preposterousness of the idea pissed me off big time.

The same holds true with this tennis thing. I don't mind women playing tennis, and I don't think it's all that big of a deal that men happen to play tennis 'better' than women - i.e. that the best pro men can easily beat the best pro women. Its not that playing tennis saves the world or feeds the hungry... I only get upset when someone seriously questions the obviousness of that fact (that male pros are miles ahead of their female counterparts), contrary to the laws of logic and the laws of physics. It has zero connection with sexism or anything like that, from my part.

Say whatever you want, but stay within the borders of reason. It can't be that hard.

Pathetic that womens tennis is being played on the bigger courts rather than mens tennis.

What is wrong with the world.

If he loses a set he should quit playing tennis.

Well, if that's right then he should have a long time ago. You know he's losing to 12 year-old girls, right? :p

Yes, but both receive the same rate of "emolument".

But you wouldn't beat a ten year old Serena. Life is unfair.

Any man on the senior tour could beat a wta player. The standard of play is higher on the senior tour than the wta tour.

Didn't Conners had hip injury some time ago? If not he would smoke her, although a more interesting question would be if Karsten Braasch would still kick her ass:)
