Gonzalez,

He Got 2685 so far. I only got 5 point last year in Indian Wells. If you get in the Final, He could have 345 points to add. So, 2685 + 345 = 3030 Points, and super pass Andy to take No. 3

What makes you think he will make the final?

I doubt he wiilll make it to the final, but he can increase his points total. He will be well rested and has little to defend.

If he will make the final because of his performance at the AO why didnt Baghdatis make last years final?

I believe both Roddick and Gonzalez have nothing to defend for quite some time now. It will be a constant battle between these two, and not for anything, but both can give Nadal a run for his money. Especially if Nadal doesn't go 100% on the clay courts for a 3rd consecutive year. Gonzalez has never been in this position before and has yet to be consistent for an entire season, while Roddick has done it since 2002 (marginal blip on the radar screen last year, but still finished top 10, that says a whole lot). Even though the #1 is pretty much locked up already, what with being in the 3rd month of the new season, this fight from ranks #2-5 can get very interesting.

depends on the draw, Gonzalez cna certainly get to the final if he is out of Federer's draw, I think he can beat roddick and Nadal on this surface, he also must avoid nalbandian...

gonzo also got to finals in madrid and basel, and got into top 10. he's been playing at a high level for much longer than baghdatis was.

i think roddick will maintain his spot at number 3. Gonzales I Think will make to the quarter finals but it all depends on the draw. Davydenko could get back to number three if the draw goes his way, he has got not alot to defend but his form is not great at the momennt. If anything Blake will probaly go down so there is not much chance of him making it. Robredo i can not really see him getting there (does not have the talent). Ljubicic no way. Haas might because the form he is in but it will be very tough he would have to win the thing (which is nyon impossible because federer is there). Nalbandian : definently not.

Andy of course!

Gonzo is in a slump after reaching the AO final anyway.

Andy is more regular than Gonzo, so I'd pick him
I don't forget bout Davydenko, but I rate Andy's chances higher

More interesting question is this : WHO CAN ENTER TOP 10 AFTER INDIAN WELLS AND/OR MIAMI ?

Murray and Djokovic will enter the top ten before Roland Garros

Gonzalez, hopefully. He's more intelligent now on the schedule thanks to Stefanki with whom he's been working for the last week or so after skipping Acapulco.

There's more to come from Fena :)

Davydenko is still out there.

But Andy and Gonzo have a lot less to defend.

It should be interesting.

Haas, but It'll be tough :awww:

It will be impossible. He's over 700pts behind Roddick and Davydenko.

Davydenko has to equal Roddick's result, which is unlikely. I'll be very surprised if Andy doesn't reach, at least, the QF. Gonzalez has to make the semi-final to stand any kind of chance.

If González maintains his level of end of the 2006 and the AO :worship: :worship: :worship: , is perfectly possible that goes up for a pair of places, and if is not in Indian Wells, can be in Miami or in any tournament from here to Wimbledon, therefore he defends very little.

Roddick probably.

Practically speaking, there's no real difference between no.3 and no.4, what's matters more is which one out of the three (Roddick, Davydenko and Gonzalez) is no.5 after Indian Wells, as that player will get a noticably tougher draw at Miami.

well, not really, I guess especially Haas and Youzhny are right now way more dangerous than Roddick or Davydenko for example

Gonzalez hasn't played since AO, so Why are you saying He's in a slump!? Just 'cause He lost to Montañes in 3 sets after being tired?

WTF

Numbers dont help there, but he will be seeded #3 at wimbledon

Tomy
03-06-2007, 06:34 AM
Although its true Gonzales doesn't have to defend many points till wimbledon, I believe he won't be hitting the number 3 spot any time soon... yes, he is playing much better, but his backhand still su**s, and I believe his head isn't ready to climb any higher on the ranks yet... who knows, maybe I'm wrong, but that's what I can see from my sofa :D

I'll go for Andy.

jcempire
03-06-2007, 04:20 PM
Andy got 2830

Gonz got 2685

only 145 Points diff. between those two, But Andy already got 75 in his ranking from R16 of Indian wells. And Gonz only got 5 from last year/

145 - 75 + 5 = 75 points diff. between those two.
