who withdrew???

Deboogle!.
05-05-2004, 11:13 PM
um.... Agassi, Nadal, Nieminen, Guga, and most likely Dent and Fish. Not to mention people like El-Aynaoui, Coria and Ferrero who all seem like uncertain entities at this point and we're not sure yet if they'll play or not (unless there's some info I missed somewhere confirming their appearance).

thanks. sad to hear that agassi again withdrew. every year the same...........

Former junior French Open champ and Hamburg winner Carretero retired a few years ago after suffering various injuries. Though he never tasted the success that he had at Hamburg he did end up winning a few challenger tournaments just before he retired. He now helps manage a tennis club somewhere in spain. Do a search on him on google & you may find out more on him.

Roddick has withdrawn due to his sore knee from the other day in Rome, according to his website anyway.

Hope Ferrero will play.... how come that we still don't know for sure whether he's going to play or not? The tournament starts on Monday!

It's hard to say what is going on. Ferrero is, of course, automatically signed up for this tournament. I suppose it is good news that we haven't heard anything about him withdrawing.

I think that Bunk was only speculating that he might not play because he withdrew from the two previous tournaments.

i thought juanqui said he was gonna take an extended break, which included hamburg? but i could be very very wrong...

withdrawals so far -- Agassi, Blake, Calleri, Dent, El Aynaoui, Ferreira, Fish, Mantilla, Nadal, J.Nieminen, Roddick from the original list (based on Mar 22 ranks). From the alternate list, Stepanek, Kafalnikov, Carraz, Enqvist, Martin, and Escude. Verdasco at #69 on March 22nd is the last entry as of now. Rochus and Kucera are the next two waiting. Kucera had not entered for qualifying; so he will need a couple more withdrawlas to make it into the main draw (unless he goes and waits for a no-show in the qualifying draw and plays qualies).

The qualifying entry list based on Apr 19th ranks, now has fallen from a #96 cut (Ascione) to #231 (Hantschk) ...
