Havent seen a single match of youhzny as side court matches arent aired:(

Any thoughts about tomorrows match?Rafa had a long match today so i wonder how this will affect him. Hes not the same rafa at the us open so i can see him winning this one.

If Rafa can barely beat the man ranked 139 in the world, what chance has he got against the in-form Youzhny?

Nadal's only chance is that Youzhny is tired. And no that is not an excuse but a fact.

Nadal, 2-6, 6-4, 6-4

if Nadal wins, its a fluke because Misha is tired, if he loses, he sucks because Misha is tired and still able to beat him. right? :)

Youzhn in 2

youzhny should be a bit tired so he will win in 3 sets, instead of the 2 he would win in if he was fresh

Nadal in 3, maybe even in 2. 2-hours match doesn't make Rafa tired

What the hell? A full in from Misha would not blow Nadal of the court.

The US Open match was tight, hard fought match overall and was decided on a few, well hard fought points by Youzhny, acompanied by a fatal Nadal mistake.

Youzhny is fully capable of beating Nadal, no doubt, but to say Youzhny can blow Nadal off court? No way.

I voted for Rafa to win in three. I think he will fight through and Youzhny will not play great, just a hunch.

However, the Dubai court is playing a lot faster than last year, it was evident in the Andreev match. I have no doubts that if Youzhny plays top notch tennis for two sets he will simply blow Nadal off court. If you disagree, say why? Why should it be any different to when Nadal faces other HC'ers with weapons? It's the same, he hasn't the weapons to stop it. That said, I still think Nadal will take it.

I think that when comes down to comparing apples to apples- Misha is a better hard court player at this speed than Nadal. He is strong enough off of both wings and has good court sense.

Still- Rafa can at times be a bigger "big match" player. That stated, Misha has beat Rafa in their last hc match and in the last few months he has shown more maturity and less choking.

Yes, I am on the Misha bandwagon replete with a trombone and a funny hat. I just have thought for a good while that he is a real talent and am happy to see him stepping up to it in a more consistant basis.

I acutally think that Youzhny will take it in three. Everyone says he is tired, but a rustier Nadal had the harder and later match.

Nothing special. Replace Nadal with any other surname and it can still be all right, so it's not the case of Rafa-hating I think

Rafa in 3 I think. Berdych would have tougher - he has a proven track record against Nadal. Youzhny trails 2-3 in H2H and so Rafa knows he can beat Youzhny. I also think Youzhny's last week will catch up with him - Nadal's mission will be to keep Youzhny out there and grind him down, and I think he will do.

Misha has his chance, certainly, but I think Nadal will find a way to get it done.

wait, so if misha is too tired nadal will win. So in other words however nadal win it won't be because he played better. tennis experts and psychics, pretty impressive crowd

Considering the fact that Nadal edged out two really tough matches his confidence must be surely growing I think he will come out on top.

Could be another great match. Todays match shouldn't be a factor, Nadal is fit enough.

Nadal really impressed me today, so I'll say Rafa in 3.

That will be the last complete 2h+ match we'll see because the 2h 45 Federer-Nadal final will be cut down to fit the one hour slot.

I'm picking Rafa in three...but only if Rafa stays near the baseline, and away from "Dubai"

I am not sure about this particular match. Youzhny is a very tricky matchup for Nadal but Rafa must be growing in confidence. Pass up the popcorn :D

I would like to see that as well...but you know- I actually wouldn't mind (looks around for fear of having tomatos thrown at her) a Haas- Youzhny final.

Only for the reason that tennis is about more than three or four players, and I would like to see perhaps two players who have played imo very well in 2007 but are not Roger and Rafa (not that Rafa has played that well in 2007 outside of a set in Dubai here or there) play for the final. It may not generate the general interest that Roger and Rafa would- but I think I would sure be entertained. :)

Still- a Rofa final would be loads of fun.

The Colonel has the tactics, just a question of whether he can execute them and how tired he is, but this is a big match for him, so no lack of motivation.

Misha wasn't playing all that well this week. :(
His backhand wasn't at it's best, and in general, all his matches were extremely tense.

I'm just hoping that he'll be able to keep balls away of Rafa's forehand (he did a good job of keeping balls off Nieminen's forehand in his first match) and stay pumped out through out.
