Ivo plays much better than your buddy Gimelstob.
Playing in houston clay courts are like playing on hard courts. In case you don't know Ivo has beaten Tommy Haas,(twice) Tommy Robredo and Davydenko on clay courts. I'll fancy his chances.
I'm sure you would not have predicted mardy fish to win here in 2005.

Haas  Makes sense to play here. :spit:He always does. The McInvales LOVE him. he's almost as popular in houston as Roddick, why wouldn't you want to play in a place where you get that much support.
Playing in houston clay courts are like playing on hard courts. Since when? Since 2001 it has been on red clay, the same material as in Paris. Any difference in speeds is because of weather and altitude. This year it will be faster b/c it will be green clay, but we have no way to know yet exactly how it will play. I'm sure you would not have predicted mardy fish to win here in 2005. :lol:Mardy won last year. Roddick won in 2005. :)

This is a new milestone for Houston. They actually have a stronger field here than in Valencia.

Ramirez-Hidalgo and Montanes are skipping Valencia to play here?

Mardy won last year. Roddick won in 2005. :)

Whatever.
I guess Roddick and Haas should say good bye to Houston.
Mardy won here. (Basically fast surface is not only the reason he won here. Last years field was so weak and did not have any depth. I can understand why the field is so weak.)

So long Houston.(good feild this year. :yeah: ) I hoping another European clay tourney on the same week instead of this from 2008.

Pretty much everyone plays better than Justin these days considering he had major back surgery a few months ago and has played exactly one match since then. :)

But I thought you were kidding as well, so I was just playing along. Didn't mean to touch a nerve.

We don't know if his abdominal tear is okay...but he won't play here if we follow an article of the 14th march but since that perhaps any good news...I don't know.

This is from the Houston Chronicle about Jurgen Melzer.

The popular Austrian Melzer made it to the River Oaks Country Club grounds before he decided that his wrist, which began bothering him at Indian Wells last month, was too sore for him to play.

So Melzer has returned to Florida to see a doctor, leaving his participation at next week's U.S. Men's Clay Court Championships in doubt as well.

I hope they can fix him up in Florida. They did last year after he injured his ankle. I am going to be there and had hoped to see Jurgen play.

Green clay sounds as a miracle...

just google the words 'Har-Tru' and see what comes up. It's used all over the Eastern US so it shouldn't be hard to find. I think the women are playing on it this week in Amelia Island.

thx for responce

is it clay ? :tape:
it's something like hard-clay surface or something like that so more suitable for players who like hard courts... I guess they are much faster than clay but still slower than hard..

Maybe, but it was developed to be low maintenance and to be easier on the body. Like I said, its very popular in the Eastern US, but I've never seen it in California, and I've never played on it.
