The venues for the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group quarterfinals to be held the weekend of 6-8 April are now known, subject to final confirmation by the ITF. The Royal Belgian Tennis Federation has been given an extension until Wednesday 28 February to confirm the venue for its home tie against Germany.

The venues are also confirmed for the eight Zonal Group I second round ties over the same weekend that will see the winners progress to the World Group Play-offs on 21-23 September.

The USTA announced Joel Coliseum in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, as the site for the quarterfinal between USA and Spain, in a repeat of the 2004 Davis Cup Final won by Spain in Seville. The tie will be played on an indoor hard court, with a capacity of 14,500 spectators. The venue was last used for the 2001 World Group Play-off tie against India, in which James Blake and Andy Roddick both made their live singles debuts.

The Russian Tennis Federation confirmed that the Sports Palace “Luzhniki” in Moscow will host its tie against France on clay, with the two nations meeting at the quarterfinal stage for the third year running. The Svenska Massan Gothenburg Convention Centre will be the venue for the quarterfinal between Sweden and Argentina, with The Swedish Tennis Association electing to play the tie on carpet. Sweden is looking to avenge its 5-0 first round defeat by Argentina in 2006.
