David often comes out on top when you think he's gonna lose fast. With Rafa's current form I would give Ferru a good chance to beat him too. VAMOS DAVID:woohoo:

And I like the coupling with Igor. So go go Andru:D

Well, I don't know any of the details, but I was reading some reports from a poster who was actually at the match, and seems there was some bad stuff going on. The Toad repeatedly swore at David, and, I understand, even tried to punch him  , though I have no verification of that of course, just repeating what I read. David also received a warning for coaching, and was really down and stressed in the second set because of all these incidents  OK - have to go to work now :wavey:

Gosh, thanks for the info Ros- that sounds awful! Poor David.

I'm kinda glad Davids loss came against Lola. I like Lola.:) As far as I can tell from the board, David hasn't been playing well. Lola for the title now.:woohoo:

DAVID WON HIS 1ST ROUND MATCH AGAINST LJUBICIC 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 :):):)

He looked a bit rusty in the 1st set, but then turned it around after that and it was a lot easier from then on with him playing very good & aggresively.

Congrats Ferru !!!!!!!!!!!

First time pairing David Ferrer and Marat Safin made a successful debut as they ousted fourth seeds Andy Ram and Kevin Ullyett 3-6, 6-3, 10-8. Both World No. 290 Safin and the 220th-ranked Ferrer are through to the Dubai doubles quarter-finals for the first time in four visits. They have four ATP World Tour doubles titles between them; Safin, 29, won titles at 2001 Gstaad (w/Federer) and 2007 Moscow (w/Tursunov), while the 26-year-old Ferrer triumphed twice in 2005 with Santiago Ventura at Vina del Mar and Acapulco

Ferrer and Safin will next face Jeff Coetzee and Wesley Moodie, who won 91 per cent of points behind their first serve to knock out Janko Tipsarevic and Viktor Troicki 6-3, 6-4.
