Nadal has talent now and Hewitt had talent way back when. Look at Hewitt's touch at the net and his flat backhands DTL. Those are low percentage shots that he was making time after time at his best. Talentless workers don't make those shots and the same goes for the Nadal passing shots and his own brand of flat backhand winners. It is true that both players play a lot of tennis with high percentage shots that take mental energy as much as talent but they are both talented as well, to get to #1/2 it takes something more than hard work.

IMO we can't speak about somebodys talent now, cause now everybody says "Federer is talented" but when he was bad palyer many people didn't thought like this... IMO we can talk when palyer is young about talents, but not now, Haas was talented, nowdays Murray, Nadal, Đoković, etc. ;)

I don't like when commentators say that TB's are about luck. It is first to seven points, plenty enough time for the better player to win. If you say that a TB is about luck then you can also say that in any given match between two weak servers every single game is down to luck.

I agree, for example Roddick is very good player, I can say great but he isn't talented, also Sharapova same thing winning GS etc, but she isn't talented, on net funny, lousy touch, etc.

IMO we can't speak about somebodys talent now, cause now everybody says "Federer is talented" but when he was bad palyer many people didn't thought like this... IMO we can talk when palyer is young about talents, but not now, Haas was talented, nowdays Murray, Nadal, Đoković, etc. ;)

Federer was talked about back then as a very talented youngster. What you're talking about is totally unclear. Did you follow tennis when Federer was a youngster? He was never a bad player and had some big wins, Sampras in '01, an AMS in '02 and then obviously his first GS in '03. He was always one of those head cases with great talent and that was the feeling of more or less everyone tbh.

Yes but there wasn't so many people talking about his talent like today, and some people stay only talented, cause of injurys and head problems, like let's say Haas, he could make it lot better, I know that Federer was talented but It wasn't exposed like today, you know what I mean ;)

Of course, but like some people said, Ferrero can also be a monster on clay and won French Open. Two things convinced me in the end:

1. Canas defeated Calleri and Chela in straights, while Ferrero was playing only players ranked outside top 60
2. About a million people picked Canas in Tennis Betting forum, while only one picked Ferrero, which doesn't happen too often.

I see this Brasil Open as one of the best we have ever had here in Brasil. Hihgh level of players, excellent organization and good attendance. These are my projections to the year:
Cañas: Will be a top 20, and if plays very very well can be a top 15.
Ferrero: If he wins the ''X-matches'', can reach the top 15 or top 10 after the clay season.
Saretta: Improved the mental aspect, will certainly reach the top 100, and i think he'll be a top 50 in December.
Guga: If the serve works, will get good results. Believe me. No prokections for rankings.

Other players that I liked and can get great results are Monaco (very good player) and Almagro (much strenght than ability, but has a great forehand).
