Incredible near to be another major choke by dlouhy. He needed 6 match points to win this.

 Igor, Igor...a bit tired after all the DC excitment? :p I'm not trying to get the glory from Dlouhy though! Beating Andreev on clay (and he was quite in shape) is certainly a great result! :)

In dead rubbers even Capdeville defeated Blake. They aren't worth anything.

Next thing people will say Andreev is worse on clay than Bob Bryan.

Bob Bryan didn't even want to go out and play, but he did anyway and won his first clay match ever :haha: You can spin it all you want, but it's still funny, and the more you deny it, the funnier it gets:)

Yeah. Dlouhy can't defeat Bob Bryan but can defeat Acasuso and Andreev on clay.

You're entitled to believe in whatever you want, but not to assume they are true.

Since Loukas would also play singles the Czech captain wanted to keep him more fresh for a decisive 5th tie. It made sense, since the Czechs would need Berdych to win both of his matches anyway.

Bob Bryan would NEVER EVER beat Dlouhy on clay if he was giving it 100%. If this was the 1st round of an atp tourney and not a dead rubber, Bob would of been lucky to win 4 games.

Dude, Dlouhy lost to Gimelstob in Estoril last year, Bob Bryan in an ATP tourney wouldn't have made much of a difference. Bob took Verdasco to three sets on clay last year during the World Team Cup as well.

"TMC champion and world number one" Max Mirnyi lost to Ginepri and Karlovic on clay. That's about as relevant as you bringing up Roddick.

Defeated Kuerten at his prime too and never lost to Arthurs on clay. You're not counting that either.

Moot point. Never even reached a final on clay.

Guga had just won Monte Carlo and reached the Rome final that year, he tanked Hamburg so he could save energy for his RG win. :wavey:

SF of Hamburg, that's not a MM tournament like Houston. Defeating Moya and Zabaleta. Lost to Federer. Not bageled.

Yeah, a testament of the tournament's greatness.

By the way, when a tournament on clay is won by Agassi you can have the measure of the quality of the claycourters present. That is, none.

Yeah, his final opponent was the amazing Medvedev. That is in a tournament where Meligeni made the SF.
That RG was an embarassment for the sport.
