Davydenko was playing very well and then... he collapsed...
Soderling def Davydenko 3:6 6:4 6:1Andre♥ 02-14-2007, 10:55 AM Davydenko was playing very well and then... he collapsed... Action Jackson 02-14-2007, 10:59 AM Not a surprising result. PMK hasn't been playing much tennis and he must getitng used to the fact that he has a clothing sponsor. Söderling has confidence from DC and loves a roof as well. He was even not giving PMK pace towards the end of the match. It will be interesting to see whether he kicks on from here. Burrow 02-14-2007, 11:20 AM wtf is PMK oz_boz 02-14-2007, 11:28 AM wtf is PMK poor man's kafelnikov Nice win by Robin :yeah: didn't expect it, thought he matched up badly against Davy but he managed to get through richie21 02-14-2007, 11:29 AM Not that a surprising result Soderling is certainly one of the best indoor players in the world Burrow 02-14-2007, 11:30 AM what?! he plays nothing like Kafelnikov. TheHawk 02-14-2007, 11:34 AM what?! he plays nothing like Kafelnikov. I think it's for the looks, not the game :) But yeah, not that hard to copy/paste Davydenko :) kinglear 02-14-2007, 12:03 PM poor man's kafelnikov Nice win by Robin :yeah: didn't expect it, thought he matched up badly against Davy but he managed to get through I love all these phrases y'all come up with. The people on the WTA forum call Sharapova TOB, which stands for The Other Blonde. lol  Deathless Mortal 02-14-2007, 12:05 PM For me it is surprising result... I expected Davydenko to win her, i was almost sure... Soderling is not that good lately... gusman890 02-14-2007, 12:05 PM PMK = he plays every tournament right? ;) Action Jackson 02-14-2007, 12:06 PM PMK = he plays every tournament right? ;) Gus is on the money. Puschkin 02-14-2007, 12:17 PM I think it's for the looks, not the game :) That's even worse. ;) Where is the resemblence? Melekhin 02-14-2007, 12:19 PM :fiery: TheBoiledEgg 02-14-2007, 12:40 PM playing the Toad indoors is always dangerous SLICK 02-14-2007, 01:04 PM For match report and press quotes http://www.inside-tennis.net/index.php?action=news&id=2446 +alonso 02-14-2007, 01:14 PM Congrats Robin! :D  Glad you took Davydenko out of this mickymouse 02-14-2007, 02:02 PM Soderling looked clueless for most of the first 2 sets...but still managed to win. SLICK 02-14-2007, 03:03 PM Once Davydenko let him into the match, Soderling just took off. Nikolay wasn't the same player after he switched racquets at 4-4 in the 2nd. Robin said if he played badly because he switched, he should have switched back. http://www.inside-tennis.net/index.php?action=news&id=2446 tangerine_dream 02-14-2007, 05:53 PM Congrats Robin! :D  Glad you took Davydenko out of this Hear, hear. Congrats, Robin :bigclap: yakuzaninja 02-14-2007, 05:56 PM PMK can get hit off the court rather easily these days. Apemant 02-14-2007, 06:11 PM I watched the match till 6:3 2:1 and then switched it off, thinking it would be another easy cruise for Davy, he seemed to be in control. And now I see this  stebs 02-14-2007, 06:18 PM Soda will be challenging for the indoor AMS titles at the end of the year. He has an awesome indoor game. He will struggle ever to make top 10 though, no GS indoors and his game away from that is pretty average. He will struggle ever to make top 10 though, no GS indoors and his game away from that is pretty average. For an indoor specialist, Söderling has some good results on clay as well. As much as I dislike the guy, I was kind of hoping for him to break quickly into top20 this year but the start has been somewhat... discouraging. Maybe he'll use the DC victories and this match to build on some success as long as the indoor season lasts. jazar 02-14-2007, 08:15 PM well, davy was a little injured recently and soderling can show some form sometimes, so its not that suprising Fergie 02-14-2007, 08:20 PM Robin! :yeah: stebs 02-14-2007, 08:35 PM For an indoor specialist, Söderling has some good results on clay as well. Maybe he'll use the DC victories and this match to build on some success as long as the indoor season lasts. Had injuries in the real indoor season last year and then when he started to get something together he ran straight into good players. Clara Bow 02-14-2007, 08:41 PM Isn't Robin still pretty young- about 22 or so? If I recall correctly- wasn't there big buzz about his potential around 5 years ago or so? But it died down as the rusults didn't I guess merit the buzz. He does have a nice game though and maybe he will take some time to grow into it. TheBoiledEgg 02-15-2007, 01:02 PM whats suprising is that PME beats PMK when the real YK used to beat Tompa with his eyes closed. Voo de Mar 02-15-2007, 01:05 PM Good win Robin :yeah: Maybe win over Mirnyi in Davis Cup was a crucial for Soderling's further career :D | |
