All WG DC Ties Still Live

According to daviscup.com, this is the first time in the 27 years of World Group play that all ties were still live going into the third day. Seems that doubles rubber is showing its importance yet again. Any other thoughts from the forum on how/why this came to be? More parity amongst nations? Revived interest, however small, in doubles? Or all just a coincidence?
