I liked how Hewitt performed.
Far out, he was good wasn’t he?

I was so shattered after his loss yesterday, but he really bounced back today. His work at the net was rock solid, his customary lobs were there, and his serve was working. And he was so pumped today. Man that was an enjoyable game.

Unfortunately he didn't win when it mattered though  They should have been 2/1 up instead

But great win today...hopefully they can produce a miracle tomorrow! :yeah:

HE WILL WIN with Rochus and make it 2-2 at worst Aussie will lose 3-2 but at least final TIE will be "real"

If Im the Aussie coach, Im not sure I play Guccione tomorrow. I think I trust Hanley, even though hes pretty much a doubles player, more than I do Guccione.

yeah it's hard decsion whom to play, but I think Guccione will play he will be far better rested than Vliegen and we don't know if Vliegen will handle his serve and style of play, Rochus is far better defensive player and still had some problems.

nice win. But will the Aussies make an impressive comeback. Hewitt has a tough task tommorow against Rochus. (Rochus is one of the players who came very close to beatind Federer two times last year.)

A small measure of revenge for Lleyton after yesterday's disaster. Well done to Hewitt and Hanley. :hatoff:

Congrats to the Aussie team. I am so glad for Hewitt after yesterday. :)

Potentially a very intersting live fifth rubber (if it comes to that)- between the two younger players.

Belgium should've rested their top 2 players for the singles, it was pretty much clear that Australia are huge faves in the doubles and will win.

Hanley? No way as much as I like him.

Oli/Vliegen are a good team. I never thought they would lose in straight sets.

Hewitt and Gooch CAN get the job done tomorrow, but it would be a monster effort to do so

that would require gooch to win a match on clay

:wavey:
Gooch won two challengers on clay last year [in South America, including a win over Canas]~ he might surprise a few people in the reverse singles;)

I refer you to World Group R1 last year, where Gooch was the hero in beating Bastl in straight sets on indoor clay in the live 5th rubber :wavey:

at that altitude nobody had a chance of breaking his serve. I havent seen any results from those challengers but id be willing to bet most of Gucciones matches were decided by tiebreaks.

Should have played Dick Norman.

But Hewitt/Hanley have too much experience... both good doubles players.

Hewitt & Hanley were pretty damn good yesterday. Hopefully Oli and Kristof will be recovered from their singles & doubles matches.

C'mon Belgium! One more win! :scared: ;)
