I don't know why is this so weird for you... Kohlmann/Waske just won Zagreb, and Ljubo/Mario are not playing together too often lately... I would say the chances was 50/50, so this is not so weird...

Congrats Germany. :yeah:

It is not suprising Germans won Kohlman/Waske are in great form. Croatia really needs to work hard tommorow but it will be very difficult as Haas is fresh with a day off. Hard load for Mario and Ivan. I can't blame them for the loss.

WHAT a total trashing they gave to the Croats!!!
very strong!!!
Ljubicic and Ancic have never lost Davis Cup doubles, and now the get the whipping from Kohlmann and Waske in straight sets. BIG surprise! I want Germany to win, but never expected this.

Croats without any chance, did not have a break point whole match long!

i agree with you, it was not a surprise that the germans won on home soil. but normalyy if you say the chances were 50/50, the match doesnt go in three straight sets!

I don't know why is this so weird for you...Because it was the first time they lost in doubles in Davis Cup. And it happened in straight sets. Against a team which usually sucks big time in DC, no matter how good they are on the ATP circuit.
And I know Ancic is ill, but so was Kohlmann.
It is a BIG upset imo.

At least he got the job done with Kohlmann ;)

Great job by the both of them! :bounce: I just hope Germany can claim a point tomorrow :yeah:

Yeah true, it should have been played in at least 4 sets, but Ljubo's and Ancic's game was becoming better with the time.. You see they lost first two set with 4 and 2, then the third in tb... Ljubicic had two serves at 5-2 in TB! I'm really surprised we didn't win at least that set.

This leaves Germany with a good chance. Haas can win from Ljubo, if he manages to stay calm for an entire match. ;)

Waske's arrogance is perfect for this environment. The crowd were really pumped up compared with yesterday. He was hugely impressive. Kohlmann too of course.

yes be careful Germany fans
Germany is top candidate for choking in Davis Cup, we know that
If Tommy looses (Ljubicic can play strong of course) then Becker looses the match after

I think Croatia does the same too

We all know Ljubo-Haas is the decider, of course if Haas wins, they win, but if Ljubo wins, i think it's 99% of chances Croatia will win.

Well I wouldn't totally despise Benny Becker's chances against Ancic (who is tired and ill) in a fifth rubber.

What a suprising straight 3 sets win. Well done, Waske/Kohlmann. :yeah:
Kohlmann played a great match although he still seemed to be sick (he had nearly no voice when being interviewed).

And what a great point from Kohlmann in the TB:

Who knows, maybe the Germans managed to do the unexpected and win tomorrow. The chances are now 50/50 IMO.

For me Ljubicic is favourite against Haas though.

So far, in my opinion at least, its been Ancic of the two who hasnt been pulling his weight, not Ljubicic. This seems to be the only matches he shows up for. Well these and the lesser important ATP ones ;)

Yappa
02-10-2007, 05:22 PM
Ancic might have been still sick, but in fact the Germans tried to play more balls to Ljubicic becauce they think that Ljubicic doesn't move as well at the net as Ancic. That's what Kohlmann said in the oncourt interview.

Really I know the day when I will be right - in the worst scenario after RG.

Ok so at the end you will be right once and wrong atleast 500 times. You sure do know your tennis. And even if Ljubo is out of the top 10 after RG, he will be back in it by the end of the year.

oh this is love
ancic didnt serve well, but he lost his serves partly because ljubo was on net while germans were returning marios serve ,and we all know that ljubo sucks on net... bot of them did some stupid mistakes, specialy in tie break when we were leading 5-2  I hope that tomorrow will be better for ivan and mario

that's what happens when you don't play doubles with someone for a year and then expect to play like a team. they played like two singles players and not like a team at all and got what they deserved. it's gonna come down to ljubo vs. haas tomorrow, because, if ancic is anywhere near 80%, he will beat becker
