Nando

Shocking defeat, and left Spain's hopes on the shoulders of LaLo.

That'll cheer the Swiss up a little bit - somewhat improbable win for Chiudinelli :yeah:

Bohli has to make enough balls in the court and the Swiss could be up 2-0.

I would think so. If they make the quarters they would have a good chance of winning the title and he would rejoin.

Marco :worship: Fernando

All my credit for Marco but this court shouldn't be used
2 of 8 players injured because of the court
and thousands of bad bounces
a court has to be used in at least 3 ATP tournaments and this court isn't used in any tournament, for sure
but as always the ITF is shit... so our player will try to compete better than Fernando

There's always someone to complain. Why haven't you complained when they mounted a mud court in 2004?

Yep, I agree. The Austrians vowed they were gonna put us (Britain) on the slowest, muckiest clay possible and did that and we found it was horrible and Henman, Rusedski struggled to move.

So clay preferring teams can't moan when they get put on an ice rink.

Ehm...Well that result is unexpected but it is Fernando of course... Good win for the Swiss, this is going to be more interesting then I would have thought. Yay!

Yeah- there will always be extremes in Davis Cup. Rafa and Marat should just shut it because this is how it has been. And one thing that is interesting is that sometimes they may try to make the visiting team so uncomfortable that they put out a crap court- and the court may be so bad that it is a disadvantage to the home team as well.

The only time I think that folks should really complain is if it is obvious that the court is quite conducive to injuries.

from what I heard, the risk of an injury is higher on carpet than on any other court.

Hmmm wonder if Fed would play the next round if switzerland progress...?doubt it...
when are QF's usually, i forgot?

who knows why Fed really skips DC, i think its to look after his own career.......... like why does he always take a month break after every grand slam thesedays (cept RG of course because he cant)
i guess if its 1 month after a major, fed might play.

congrats Marco, 1 down... 2 to go ;)

Davis Cup sucks. I mean, the game itself is great, a lot of drama and excitement, but the crowd cheering for obvious UEs, double faults - and even 1st serve faults when the match is near the end - it pisses me off really badly.
