According to Yahoo:

"India's Davis Cup hopes have suffered a major blow after Mahesh Bhupathi, seen here on 22 January, refused to team up with his estranged doubles partner Leander Paes."

Seems like things aren't getting any better between the 2...

i think it was something about the mixed doubles in the asian games. bhupathi thought he should play with mirza, but paes partnered her and he got uberoi or someone and it annoyed hij

The friction between them developed way before that incident. To put it simply, their ego is getting in the way.

Bhupati is an idiot. That guy has no respect to his country.
His father is the one responsible for who split up the pair.

Yes it was AITA's decision. Sania and Leander won Bronze medal in 2002 Asian Games. Bhupati was given a choice at the time to play with Mirza but he choose Manisha Malhotra.(they won Silver offcourse.) and Sania was paired with Leander. AITA made the right decison choosing Sania and Leander last year.(as they have played before and it eventually worked as they took home gold medal last year.) It was Mahesh's fault as he made wrong decision in 2002.

I know there is a lot of history between the two, but I think that Bhupathi is not alone in not getting along with Paes. Hope it can be resolved, as they make a very formidable pairing and India deserves better in DC.

yah I also heard about that:eek:
They played so well together back in 2001 when they won GS titles, it's a shame this is happening:sad:

They did everything they can.(Won medals in olympics,GS,TMS titles etc.) and reached retirement period. So i think Paes-Bhupati era is now over. It's time for us to look to youngsters like Karan Ratsogi.:)

I don't blame Bhupathi at all when it comes to Paes.
