Bravo Marco!!
From PZB Zagreb web page:

Baghdatis, tournament's second seed, defeated Frenchman Florent Serra by 6:2, 7:6 (5) after saving three set points at 4:5 in the second set. He also escaped from 1-4 in the tie-breaker and finally managed to find the way to the second round.

He had a hard time in the second set but the good news is that he managed to win it.

youzhny is also very tough.;)
and watching tonight's match between Ljubo and Koubek-and if Ljubo keeps playing like this I don't think he will be such serious problem for Marcos.

But don't go so ahead, because Arnaud is tough and he has beaten Marcos before.:(

He lost to Clement in Lyon, but he wasn't feeling well at the time.
He made 11 double faults in that match
I think he has a better chance today :)

Dimitra
02-02-2007, 10:17 AM
lol yeah-I was amazed by that stat too!:p

But-that's the thing with Marcos-you never know which Marcos will show up..

The Marcos of the slams :worship: -or the Marcos of Lyon? :o

Hope he wins-and wins the title too-that will get him to no.17. :D :bounce:

With Marcos it can't be called a choke. I would call it adding a bit of drama
in the match. Marcos rarely wins without the drama. He just wants to give
spectators value for the money they paid to see him

Ljubo is tired for playing all these days and if Marcos doesn't chok...ehr want to make it more interesting :p ,it can finish in 2!:D

Choupi

Ljubo spent more time on the court today, as he's had to battle hard against Youzhny. Good for Marcos to have spent only 1h12 on the court today. But......we never know. Ljubo will be looking for revenge and he's pretty good when it comes to indoor events. And he's home. I'm 100% behind Marcos. But I think it's gonna be tight.

Bring that title home Marcos!!

from the ATP SITE:

Ljubicic, who had survived three consecutive three-set matches to reach the final, slipped to 7-10 in career finals. He began the season by winning the Doha title (d. Murray).

Baghdatis: "It was great to come back after the disappointment of Australia and win a tournament. I am very, very happy.

"I won the crucial points. I played a great tie-break and a great game at 5-4 in the third. Ivan was a bit tight and didn't serve so good in that game.

"I'll just try to keep the same mentality. Stay happy and keep working hard and everything should go well. I just have to play my game and enjoy it."

Ljubicic: "It was my fourth long match in a row and I was a little tired in the end. I had my chances in the fourth set  and it's always difficult to come from a set down against such a player.

"I am satisfied. I struggled all week long, so to reach the final without playing great tennis is nice. I had a lot of pressure on my shoulders. But I am a little sad because I think I had chances today.

"He kept the pressure on my serve. In the last game he was too good. One fantastic drop shot, then the lob to go match point, then a fantastic passing shot to finish the match. I didn't think I did anything wrong.

About his Davis Cup preparation: "I have 11 hours of tennis so I am pretty satisfied physically with how I feel. Now I just need to rest and try to recover and get ready for the tie."
