If any fans are interested in some of the classic matches of the past, I have recently obtained the following matches on DVD:

The infamous 1969 Aussie Open SF where Rod Laver beats Tony Roche
7-5, 22-20, 9-11, 1-6, 6-3 !!!! Not the whole match but 2 hours of the main highlights. This was one of Rod's toughest matches on his way to the Grand Slam that year.

The Dunlop Tournament Final in Sydney in 1970 between Laver and Rosewall which should be great, the 1971 Aussie Open Final between Rosewall & Ashe, and the 67 Aussie Final between Emerson & Ashe.

Also some classic womens matches eg:

1971 Australian Open Final: Court b Goolagong 16 76 75 (120m)
1969 Australian Open Final: Court b King 6-4 6-1 plus interviews (55m)
1971 Federation Cup Final:
Goolagong b Wade 6-4 6-1 (2nd set - 20m)
Court b Jones 6-8 6-3 6-2 (sets 2 & 3 - 40m)

All matches are in Black and White, with commentary and good quality.

Send me a PM if you are interested in any of them.

Well I just got to watch one of the greatest tennis matches I have ever seen on DVD today.

The match was the 1970 Dunlop International where Rod Laver beat Ken Rosewall in a 5 set classic: 3-6 6-2 3-6 6-2 6-3.

It goes for about 160 minutes and includes the presentation. Honestly both players were like magicians. Superb stuff and some remarkable rallies and incredible shotmaking. The commentators raved about how good the standard of tennis was.

Laver reminds me of Federer with a wooden racket. He had every shot in the book and weaved his racket like a magic wand. As for Rosewall, he is one of the most graceful and quick players I have ever seen and such deft touch and great tactics. To see them going head to head when they were both still near their peak has been a real blessing! Two genuine legends of the game!
