Patrick McEnroe jinxed Blake, yesterday he said whoever won the Blake/Dent match would be in the semis.

Georgia is a former Soviet Republic located between Turkey and Russia on the Black Sea. Labadze is from the capital, Tbilisi.

Patrick McEnroe jinxed Blake, yesterday he said whoever won the Blake/Dent match would be in the semis.

That was stupid of him. Blake and Dent aren't nearly that good to be 100% sure of a win.

Congrats for Labadze! His unbelievable run continues, but I seriously doubt he'll beat Henman in the semis.

i bet Pat Mc makes it out that Labadze is from Atlanta or something :tape:

"we got a Georgian in the semis, where is this Tblisi place ?? must be a little village near Atlanta".

and to think he was 0-5 for 2004 as well makes his run even more amazing ;)

Go little nations! They can't play rugby if their life depended on it, good to see that they fair better in tennis.

And Stalin was a Georgian, not Russian. :D

Glad that was cleared up ;)

James Blake is the most pathetic player in the world. I hope I never see his face again...

For those of you who seem to think that Blake should have one, I laugh at you: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Come on, Labadze beat the man who had the most wins in 2004 before the tournament (Moya), so he is not going to lose to someone like Blake. He might lose to Henman, who can beat anyone besides Hewitt, but in his head, he thinks, "I beat Moya, a top 10 player, I am not going to lose to James Blake, especially since I beat him two times previously." Labadze is someone with enough talent to get him into the top 20 in the next couple of years. Blake just hits the ball like hell, and has no backup plan when he is losing.

Irakli Labadze actually seems like a big name on the Tour already. At least, I have known his name for quite a while, though I never really knew what his results were like. When I read someone saying that this is his TMS debut, I thought that was a joke, so I checked his results. Last year, he hardly played other tournaments than Challengers and small ATP Tournaments!

I do have to straigthen things up by adding that Indian Wells is NOT his TMS debut, since he has played in Miami in 2002 (lost to Mirnyi)

Way to go Irakli though! I hope you can win the tournament, since I always like a good surprise.

no surprise here really. i hate the way blake and roddick play so this is just icing on the cake after timmy took out andy.

james's game is BORING!

What would be nice would be a Federer-Labadze final, a rematch of the Wimbledon juniors final.

We agree again Domino a Federer/Labadze final would be great, congrats to Irakli for beating Blake for the 3rd time and hopefully he continue his good form against Henman.
