Well Djoko had a minor WTF moment against Lopez in R2 and he's had a pretty big WTF moment in R3 here. He'd better have got that out of his system for R4 if he wants to make it competitive - it seems he's been getting looser rather than tighter as the tourney has progressed.

Having said all that, he got the win, he in R4 and that's huge for him, so well done Nole. :)

Djoko is cocky, but he is not yet a champion. I see Federer rolling over him. That is if Youzhny doesn't do something phenomenal!

For me Nole is the future No. 1 but the day after yesterday he'll lose in straight sets.

Good thing he got it back together after that 3rd

Have to give Djoko his due though, he's on an 8 match win streak since the start of the year. R4 is going to do his ranking the world of good on his push toward the top 10

Well done Nole. Major brain freeze in the third set and probably quite fortunate not to go down a break early in the fourth but he got through it.

Still, he got through and that's the main thing.

Yup :) And he doesn't have major points to defend anywhere until the French Open ;) Very few points at the spring masters events :D

Really? That's all we're going to hear for the next two days. Some version of that.:p

True - a few more good wins between now and then and he should breach the top 10 by Roland Garros.

And rightly so - that was a serious brainfart serving for the match under little or no pressure.

he's taking on the world number 1 in R4 (likely), not Miss Emma of Sunnybrook Farm. He can't afford that.

Doesn't she get a WC into Wimbledon each year?

But all the top guys did good at RG, so everyone will have big points to defend.

It's most important that he crack the top 12 as quickly as possible. The 12/13 line is a big line in terms of seeding.

Another good interview from Nole - I really do warm to him when I hear him speak - he's got a great personality, so good for the future of the game.

You make a good point - last year the top 8 or so were all solid at RG.

I'll one-up you, scoobs, and say that Novak needs to play better than he's ever played before and get a little help from Rog.

True. But then I think that's true of nearly everyone out there anyway.

Nole at least has the advantage of youth - the cockiness, the feeling that time's on his side and he can go out and have a go.

I'm really looking forward to it, assuming Mr Youzhny doesn't pull out another Grand Slam QF type performance against Federer.

It was a match played in good spirits. There was a point that Udomchoke won after a good rally with some amazing retrieving by Djokovic, and the two guys gave each other a high five after tha point.

Nice, should have ben SS but the win is what matters. Fed next, upset? That would surely be the definitive breakthrough for Djoko.

I loved that! The point and the high-five. Djokovic had a major dip in the third set, unforced error after unforced error. But he picked up his game in the fourth. :)
