Del pony beating Rodger the ballerina at the USA Open, that was a sweet match and very enjoyable..
then the AO09 when the ballerina started bawling that was a great match but the sweetest part was when he had that ugly cry...

Matchmaker, Matchmaker,
Make me a match,
Find me a find,
catch me a catch
Matchmaker, Matchmaker
Look through your book,
And make me a perfect match

Matchmaker, Matchmaker,
I'll bring the veil,
You bring the groom,
Slender and pale.
Bring me a ring for I'm longing to be,
The envy of all I see.

Matchmaker, Matchmaker,
Make me a match,
Find me a find,
Catch me a catch,
Night after night in the dark I'm alone
So find me match,
Of my own.

Federer beating Murray at AO

Fed over Del P in the original post, for very similar reasons.

But number one was Federer over Murray in Aus there. Being from Scotland I was surrounded by Murray-tards, all telling me how Murray is THE in form player, how he is going to beat Fed, how he is better than him (+ve h2h proves it apparently!), and how Federer only won the US08 final because Murray was 'inexperienced'. When I argued back with facts, that Federer was the in form player, that Federer is better, that unless Federer has an awful day he won't lose, and that there was a 90% chance it would be a 3 set win for Federer. They thought I was mad, I enjoyed the post match disection after and nobody even tried to make excuses! All that was said was 'If Murray had won that third anything could happen.' Well no, if Murray had won the third he would have lost in 4 instead of 3. Happy days.

Soo many to choose from!

… but I just finished watching a classic -- RG 1989, Lendl-Chang, 4th rd. [a match I’ve not seen since it took place … thanks bittorrent! ;)]. Chang, only 17 yo at the time, had some serious chutzpah and it was amusing watching him outwit and outplay Lendl while battling severe cramps.

Lendl just seemed indignant the whole time like “who the fuck is this kid?!”, and the Parisian crowd backing Chang clearly didn’t help matters [nor did he with his constant bickering over line calls and primal screams of frustration ].

An heroic effort by Chang and a highly entertaining and emotionally satistying match! :drink:

Going WAY back - I'm not even sure about the date, but I think it was 1995 Wimbledone Becker defeats Agassi. I was not crazy about Agassi and I so enjoyed watching the "old guy" beat him.

Hewitt Vs Federer 2003 Davis Cup

Hewitt Vs Baghdatis 2008 Oz Open - I was at the match and the atmosphere was crazy, alot of people left, but the ones that stayed behind were hammered and its definitely something that will never happen again.

Nadal Vs Fed Wimby 08

Kohli Vs Roddick Oz Open 08 - Fuck Kohli was a beast that night.

There's about a million more you could say but these are the matches that stick out most in my memory.

AO 2010. Should count ceremony – the way Murray finally accepted the fact he was defeated by the better player: something he refused to believe after USO 2008. The young guy almost touched me with his honesty.
Otherwise Wimby 2009 - the official stamp on Roger’s supremacy.

I cried with Federer when he won RG...I was following it on my phone at church but when it was time to go I knew there wasn't enough time to get home...so my sister used her doctor's pass to get us into the doctor's lounge at the hospital and we arrived in time for the final two games....I literally sank to my knees and followed his exact routine when he won...luckily the lounge was empty or they'd think I was a freak

Noah vs Wilander RG 83 pure youngster's joy, all Noah's tournament was great :yeah:
Leconte vs Sampras Davis Cup 91 : euphoria of talent, everybody had lost hope after Forget's harsh defeat against Agassi and Zorro came, playing like in Heaven !

In recent years maybe Fed vs Davydenko in Melbourne because I had lost any hope and then the way it changed was so strange and ideal (my wife told me that the way Fed did is a very famous military strategy in Chinese history, also used by Guillaume the 1st in Hastings)

Last year Youzhny's victories over Simon gave me a great joy : it was possible to beat that pushing and unrisky game by talent and points construction

Also Tsonga vs Nadal Melbourne 2008 was great

Surely the greatest pleasure would be (rather have been  ) Fed beating Nadal in RG final (or even semifinal ;) )

It was quite awful for me, not that I did like Lendl so much, but it was painful to see such destruction, a kind of self-destruction with the pressure of the crowd behind.

Lendl had always had my sympathy as a victim since I saw him very thin losing against Borg in his first RG final. And that match against Chang was awful.

There have been many over the years, but I think my favourites are the comeback tales. Juan Carlos Ferrero winning Casablanca from being 115 in the world, and the year he had afterwards (and is still having :worship:) was special. And again, at the time, Mario Ancic beating Ferrer at Wimbledon 08 when he kissed the grass and I thought he was back for good. I was so happy at the time lol  oh well, bring on Wimbledon 2010!

EDIT: And how can I forget Benny beating Fed at Bercy while I was there, and pretty much the only person supporting him (except the die-hard Frenchies who support anyone French) - watching pretty much the entire place being won over by such a display of passion and desire was really amazing.

Laver v Roche '69 USO for obvious reasons.

I wasn't a huge fan of Laver's but the opportunity of witnessing a calendar Grand Slam doesn't come every year.

I doubt if I will see one again with the court surfaces as they are but if the USO is slowed down maybe.
I was hoping to see one via Federer but you can't have it all. This year is a small possibility I suppose but
I expect someone else to be collecting the trophy at Roland Garros and possibly USO.

As much as I don't like Nadull I have to say that's ridiclous. I mean Sampras in 1994, ranked number 1, lost to some guy called Yzaga from Peru in the 4th round of the USO. Applying your logic one could say that lost shows that Murray would own Sampras on hard.
