I don't know what time the sun rises over there, but being summer I guess it will be around 04:30? In which case, if the 5th set goes past 6/6, there is the real possibility they might be playing in daybreak :tape:

nah, the sun doesn't rise until after 6am there. But it has to be a record for the latest at night that any match has ever been played.

From atptennis.com (Tokyo 2006):

"Benjamin Becker and Jiri Novak took the court for the last match of the Day 4 schedule and Becker emerged a 6-3, 3-6, 7-6(4) winner at 3.24 a.m after having saved one match point while serving at 5-6 in the third set. It is the latest finish to a singles match in ATP history."

Didn't Becker (Benjamin) play till around 3:30 (?) a.m. in Tokyo last season?
I think it's insane, this is Slam for goodness sake not some tier II tournament.

A couple years ago at US Open El Aynaoui and W.Ferreira were playing around 3 a.m.

Insane, luckily Seppi has a day off now - imagine if he'd have to play today. :tape:

Then you want the whole schedule to be late because of one match?

No, but I can almost gurantee that one set will not wreck the entire day...

Let me put this way... the last set was the one that took less time to finish. ;)

I bet they preferred to play in the cool of the night than in the 50 degrees C (120F) heat of the day.
